  If I could give it a zero I would. Showed up at 1, was told I have to wait until 4pm I was ok with that. Then I was told my room is two single beds ( were a couple and I’m 6’4” and 245 lbs) I also booked and paid for ONE double bed as it stayed in my reservation. The receptionist immediately started arguing telling me all of their rooms are two single beds. I showed her photos from their website and she stood her ground. I went back to my car and told my girlfriend that they only have single beds. Went back in and provided our passports. I asked about distance to Cascais ( advertised on Booking.com to be 16km). She said it’s more than 40 and takes 45 min by car. I advised I didn’t want the room anymore and was told no refund will be given. We eventually booked another hotel in Cascais and paid another $240. Went back inside again and this time there was another more helpful receptionist but it was too late to do anything. Our money was gone. I reached out to Booking.com and they washed their hands of it. They said it was a “partner company “ and not their problem. I have been doing business with them for years. Conveniently they removed the INATEL Caparica from their hotel lineup. I also saw one of the pools to be dry. The place looks ok on photos but in person looks like a stable for livestock

  I must have walked past reception at least eight times and no one acknowledged me. No greeting or goodbye. The woman with the glasses never even looked up. Very busy and loud hotel. No concept of being quiet for other guests after 10:30pm. No management of this from the hotel. Lots of school groups. This is fine of course but noise needs to be managed for other guests. Not a good choice of food for breakfast - the coffee is poor by European standards and only one member of staff said good morning. One young man with black hair is unfriendly. Breakfast is not a pleasant occasion. The Pool wasnt open- it doesn’t state this on Booking.comRoom is clean and bed is comfortable. Cleaning lady friendly. Really unusual place. It’s more like a hostel than a hotel and there is zero customer relations or hospitality.

  I just came back from this "hotel". No swimming pool:The reason I went there was to join the wonderful swimming pool you can see on the picture. The pool is now completely abandoned since at least May 2018 (according to google maps)... They do have now another swimming pool that resembles a water tank, but it's for kidos. I asked the staff when the big swimming pool closed and she said "because of corona", so we would feel sorry - but that is not true since at least in May 2018 it was already abandoned.Problems with the rooms: I had to charge my phone in the toilet, since there was a severe lack of electrical plugs in the room. There are simply too many wardrobs and the electrical switches in the walls are very confusing.Problems with the beds: The "double bed" was two old single beds joined together. They were U shaped and the pillows were about the worst I have encountered.

  Inatel caparica is in a wonderful setting, surrounded by a park and 5 minute walk to a beautiful 30km stretch of beach (not for swimming but we loved jumping the crashing waves-surfers paradise). The hotel room is large and clean with good air con and the beds are comfortable and plenty of tv channels to choose from. The only criticism would be a little updating in the bathroom and WiFi is only available downstairs in the lounge next to reception. We were booked on a bed and breakfast basis, the restaurant, bar and terrace is in another building next to the hotel. The breakfast was always fresh and a good selection of hot and cold food. Most of the staff speak english and are very accomodating, most of the guests were portugese when we visited so we did try with our limited language. The main part of caparica is a 20 minute walk along the beach esplanade with some cafe/restaurant s along the way. Caparica has a lot of small cafe restaurant shops and supermarket. It was busy at weekend's with locals and quiet midweek in June. The beach train is worth it for the views of the sea and beach huts, it's located right at The end of caparica. The 161 bus from bus station will take you into Lisbon and the terminal is next to areeiro metro, the bus takes around 40 minutes but was very slow and busy on return journey around 6/7pm.the metro is very easy to navigate. Lisbon obviously worth a visit to belem and take a no12 tram from rossio to the castle, wonderful views! Avoid the no28 tram unless you want a long hot bumpy squashed ride through ALL of Lisbon. Lisbon was everything i hoped for ancient and beautiful. Public transport was very reasonable and caparica eating out was also reasonable. Our first visit to Portugal will not be our last.
