Excellent Stay. Absolute 5 star quality.

    rating05 May 2026

One of the best hotels I've stayed at. So glad I chose Altis Avenida for my stay in Lisbon. From beginning to end, everything was top notch. Received an amazing room, with great linens, well appointed amenities. Loved the welcome gift and turn down service each evening. Best view hands down on the sun deck and great place to unwind after a long day of walking. Staff were so polished and professional. Very caring and empathetic. I felt extremely well cared for and safe at this hotel. Location was amazing with Rossio station across the street. Walkable to all sights. Tried the Rossio restaurant and enjoyed the food and service. All in all, this experience will be a benchmark I will hold other hotels to. Bravo Altis! Thank you so much!

Wonderful Stay at Altis Avenida Hotel, Lisbon

    rating02 May 2026

We had a wonderful four-night stay at the Altis Avenida Hotel in Lisbon in April. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The hotel’s convenient location made it easy to access everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious. Complimentary pastries and wine upon arrival and champagne and pastries upon departure. Room service for water and coffee was available throughout the day and night. While the hotel is located in a busy square, the double-glass windows block out the noise. The rooms are a bit small for US traveler standards, but that’s no big deal because the hotel is fantastic and has a beautiful rooftop terrace for dining and cocktails.I highly recommend the Altis Avenida Hotel to anyone visiting Lisbon. Thank you, Altis Avenida Hotel, for making our stay so wonderful.

    Not for Dinner

    rating25 Apr 2026

Nice atmosphere and decent service, but the food is simply unacceptable for a place claiming five-star standards. The steak was clearly not fresh—it looked pre-cooked and reheated, and tasted just as bad. While management did remove it from the bill, that doesn’t make up for the overall poor experience. This place is overpriced and seriously underdelivers. Not worth your money.Fine for a drink, maybe—but avoid it for dinner.

Lisbon ... culture buffs and foodies will love it and this Hotel

The location of Altis Avenida is truly one of its biggest highlights. Perfectly positioned in the heart of Lisbon, it makes exploring the city effortless. Most of the major sights are within easy walking distance, so you can soak up the city atmosphere without constantly relying on transport. One of the standout advantages is its proximity to Rossio Station, which made day trips incredibly convenient—especially visiting Sintra. Being so close to the main train line meant we could plan our excursion to Sintra with zero hassle. In addition, the hotel is exceptionally well connected to public transport. There’s a metro station and several bus stops right outside, making getting around Lisbon—and even to and from the airport—both easy and very affordable. The atmosphere at Altis Avenida is exceptional—refined, understated, and effortlessly elegant. Rather than feeling busy or overly showy, the hotel has a calm, low-key ambiance that immediately makes you feel relaxed and comfortable. There’s a real sense of exclusivity throughout, without it ever feeling pretentious. It strikes the perfect balance between luxury and subtlety, creating a space that feels both special and welcoming at the same time. Whether returning after a day of exploring or spending time in the hotel itself, it always felt like a peaceful retreat in the middle of the city. Our room on the second floor was a real highlight of the stay. It featured a lovely balcony with a table and chairs, which became one of our favourite spots—perfect for sitting out and watching the city slowly come to life in the morning and wind down in the evening. The room itself was beautifully appointed, with a very comfortable king-size bed, high-quality bedding, and plush pillows that made for a truly restful sleep. Everything felt thoughtfully designed and in keeping with the hotel’s understated luxury.Despite being in such a central location, the room was impressively quiet. The triple glazing completely blocked out any street noise, and the blackout blinds were excellent—no early wake-ups from bright morning light. Overall, the comfort level was absolutely five-star, and we slept incredibly well throughout our stay. The overall quality of the hotel truly reflects its five-star status. From the attention to detail in the rooms to the level of service throughout, everything felt polished, well maintained, and thoughtfully designed to deliver a high-end experience.Despite this, what really stood out was the excellent value for money. For a five-star city hotel in such a prime central location, the pricing felt very reasonable—especially considering the quality and service levels on offer. The location also helped us save significantly on additional costs. With direct access to public transport, including metro and bus links, we were able to get to and from the airport easily and cheaply without needing taxis. Being so central also meant we could walk to most attractions, which added even more value to the stay.Overall, it offers a luxury experience without the excessive price tag you might expect, making it a smart choice for anyone looking for high quality and convenience in Lisbon city .We had a fantastic and memorable stay at the Altis Avenida Hotel in Lisbon, and it truly exceeded our expectations on every level. The hotel’s amenities are superb. The sun deck and roof terrace bar overlooking Rossio are absolute highlights—perfect for relaxing with a drink while taking in the stunning city views. The Rossio Restaurant offers a wonderful dining experience for guests with a great atmosphere and excellent food. For those wanting to stay active, the 24-hour gym is well-equipped and very convenient. The hotel also features meeting rooms, making it ideal for business travelers, along with a stylish lobby bar and lounge that’s perfect for unwinding after a day exploring Lisbon. What really sets this hotel apart, though, is the exceptional service. The staff are genuinely friendly, attentive, and committed to making your stay memorable. A special mention to Cláudia at reception, who was amazingly helpful—offering great personal advice on where to go and exactly how to get there and maximize what we did on our mini break exploring Lisbon. Also, Renato the concierge was outstanding. His enthusiasm for Lisbon and its hidden gems was infectious. He didn’t just recommend places—he actually walked us to a local restaurant and gave us a short guided tour of the incredible building it was housed in. That level of personal service is rare and deeply appreciated. From housekeeping to front of house, every member of staff was professional, warm, and clearly takes pride in what they do.Overall: Outstanding. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Lisbon.
