Excellent boutique hotel in Lisbon

The hotel is a former palace and only has six room that all have names rather than a room number. Our room was huge with what must have been 12 foot ceiling with original plaster work. Very personalized service every step of the way. Breakfast was fantastic at the terrace overlooking the Tarsus river.Close to the river cruise terminal and the historical tram line 28. We will definitely recommend this hotel for anyone going to Lisbon vacation.

This proved to be a wonderful choice for a pre cruise stay in Lisbon. First and foremost, every male employee there couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating and really set a very high standard for service unmatched elsewhere. Whether it was making reservations for dinner, helping with luggage, or ideas for sights to see in the area. My suite was excellently appointed and very clean. Breakfast on the terrace was bountiful and the to go breakfast they packed for me early one morning when I had an early tour proved enough for three meals. This is a very unique historic building in a quiet area within easy walking distance to some of the more well known sights in the city and right across the street from where the cruise ships dock. A big cookie cutter hotel this is not, it is something very special.

The hotel is located in a safe place, the room was very spacious and the beds were comfortable. However, this is not a five-star hotel when it comes to service or amenities. For one, they are completely understaffed (often times we could not find a person to ask a question or help us) and it is extremely overpriced for what you get. The place looks tired and feels worn. If they lower their rates it would be a nice place to stay, but we paid more than $500 a night and were very disappointed.

We were completely deceived by the pictures and the reviews ! This is like going to a home not a hotel. The outside was dirty, garbage containers, and a drunk outside, dark and dangerous.Hard to find since the entrance is through a dark alley. There are only stairs with no elevator, rooms are ok (the design and decor odd with a mixture of modern and older historic).However, the staff and service were excellent and the breakfast was good.
