Between Piano Notes and Old-World Atmospheres... Pure Magic

    rating03 May 2026

Our stay at Palácio das Especiarias was simply unforgettable, one of those experiences that stays with you and completely redefines the meaning of hospitality.Located in the very heart of Lisbon, this 16th century palace is a true masterpiece. Every space tells a story, with beautifully curated antique furnishings that are elegant, never ordinary, and perfectly matched to create unique and surprising rooms. One particularly fascinating detail is that each floor has its own distinct aroma, which also inspires the names of the rooms, creating a sensory journey that accompanies you throughout your stay.Mornings here are something truly special. Breakfast is elevated by the presence of a live pianist, different every day, gently accompanying the start of your day with delicate classical melodies. The notes seem to follow you through those first quiet hours of the morning, creating an atmosphere that is both calming and magical. It makes you feel genuinely appreciated as a guest, because a guest who wakes up to classical music is a happy guest, and here they clearly understand that.A special mention also goes to the wine cellar, located in the basement of the palace, where you can enjoy tastings in a truly evocative and historic setting, almost suspended in time. The ground floor terrace is another hidden gem. Surrounded by greenery and offering complete privacy, it is incredibly peaceful despite being in the city center. All you can hear are birds singing, which feels like a rare luxury in such a central location. What truly makes this place exceptional, however, is the service. A heartfelt thank you to William at reception, who with passion and professionalism guided us through the palace, sharing stories, curiosities, and hidden details we would have never discovered on our own. His attention to detail and genuine kindness made us feel like true guests rather than just customers. The Palácio das Especiarias is not just a hotel, it is a sensory, cultural, and emotional experience. If you are looking for something authentic, elegant, and truly special, this is the place.

    A unique experience.

We had a wonderful 2 day stay at Palácio das Especiarias. The atmosphere is old world luxury. A truly unique property. The staff were all great. The breakfast was extensive and generous. They even had a live pianist and violinist playing. I don’t remember ever having that before. Highly recommended. Thank you !

    Unique and charming Hotel

    rating29 Apr 2026

Beautifully decorated, elegant and charming hotel. Friendly staff were very accommodating, helpful and offered wine and cheese at arrival. Complimentary Turkish bath and sauna. We only stayed 2 nights, but would have liked to stay longer. It was perfectly located in the center of town. We walked everywhere. We enjoyed their Fada dinner which was very special.

    Dreamy Birthday Trip

    rating26 Apr 2026

A gem at Chiado! Location wise it’s unbeatable. Classy Chic with so much visible effort to keep this place pleasant, clean and comfortable at the same time with a classic touch in it. Every room has its own unique decoration. Staff are all super nice specially if you’re lucky enough to be taken care of by the most caring and nicest person at front desk «Willian ».He made my stay for my Birthday much more sweeter with a surprise at their classical musical Breakfast. The value for the service & experience you receive is reasonable. I myself as a world traveller who’s also very picky with my choices, would highly recommend this Palace style Hotel! Do not forget to try their Roman bath. 😊

Truly special and unique palace in Lisbon

    rating24 Apr 2026

This hotel is literally a palace. My husband I were amazed as we wondered around the common areas. We discovered beautifully decorated, charming and well preserved rooms at this hotel. Our room was very large, with a high ceiling, comfortable and very unique with modern bathroom, and air-conditioning. Our room was also very clean and quiet. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Anything we needed, they were super responsive and very nice. This was such a unique place to stay in Lisbon. They provided wine to taste upon arrival, and coffee and tea available all day. We did not take advantage of the complimentary massage that was offered or the roman bath. We did enjoy sitting out in the very lovely garden. The location is also fantastic. We walked to everything. Our stay at Palacio Das Especiarias made our trip to Lisbon very special.
