Location

This historical hotel is situated 500 metres from the heart of Palmela; a town that features a number of restaurants, bars, pubs, nightlife spots and tourist attractions. Located on top of an imposing hill, it affords one of the most impressive panoramic views of the area. Palmela boasts excellent wines and superb cuisine, and it is also the perfect starting place to discover the Costa Azul and the magnificent Arrábida Natural Park. Nearby interesting sights include Louro Mountain Range, the Pre-Historic Caves - Quinta do Anjo, Bacalhoa Palace, Vila Nogueira de Azeitão, Setúbal, Roman Ruins - Tróia and beaches.

Facility

The hotel has 5 suites and 23 double rooms, which are located on 3 storeys and are reachable by lift. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Services such as a baggage storage service and a safe ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The hotel offers a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional facilities include a TV room. Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Most units have a sea view. Rooms have a double bed or a queen-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower, a bathtub and a bidet. A hairdryer and a telephone are provided.     Interesting Historical pousada experience

    Rooms are adequate but not great. Clean but dated in furnishings and decor. Some with fab views over The Atlantic Ocean.Dining options very limited and in our case many items not available 😕 Service very slow with inexperienced staff that could benefit with hospitality training.Otherwise very historical with great atmosphere and settling. Definitely worth visit but eat out.

    High on a hill with 360° views. We were lucky enough to have a double aspect room with fabulous views. There were shutters to block out light and in high summer, heat. Our room was well appointed and even had a kettle. We slept extremely well as it was so quiet.The castle is next door and gets quite a few visitors including the army on a training exercise one evening. The converted monastery had a beautiful interior with vaulted ceilings and plenty of charm. There was an internal courtyard with seating but it wasn't really warm enough to sit outside during our 3 night stay. It was often windy, possibly due to the hilltop location.They had a good breakfast spread. Being in a relatively remote location meant that we ate in. Evening dinner has a limited choice if half board. A la carte will offer you more choices. Lovely staff and most spoke excellent English. Allow 2 hours for dinner! Only 45/50 minutes from Lisbon and not far from the coast.

    Lovely Pousada on top of a hill with beautiful views. Helpful staff and good food. One night is probably enough to eat in. Setúbal has many good restaurants as an alternative.     Perfect location and splendid view over the area - all the way to Lisbon

    A former convent is now the pousada here in Palmela. It lies next to the old castle. Free parking at the hotel. Friendly and informative reception. Rooms are quite big, and very big beds - but too hard for us (and most others I guess).A very quiet place and you wake up to a very nice buffet style breakfast. We missed youghurts...Prices were also OK.     Beautiful hotel with historic ruins, incredible views, and modern amenities. Large rooms. Service was the highlight of our trip.
