  I paid in full for 4 nights. My wife fell ill and I phoned saying I would be one day late. My wife was still ill and when I confirmed for the following day they said to contact agency - Geostar.Geostar was very comprehensive but informed after that this hotel was very greedy and had already resold my 2 nights and not willing to give me 2 nights out of the 4 nights I had already paid in advance.Passed by and thank goodness I didn´t stay.Very noisy and disagreeable outside and inside heard faul language.Not for educated clients.

  Booked hotel last minute and from the time we arrived the staff were very friendly and helpful, couldn't ask for a better place to stay 2 minute walk to beach and many local shops around you for everything you need. Thanks Daniel, Sonia and team

  Its one of my first hotel reviews but I cant get over it and finally found time to write it. I booked a room for family (2A + 2C) through booking.com in Hotel Praia do Sol. I am 110% sure that the booking page had options for 4 people, that's why I used it. It was an early booking (non refundable) so I got a good price too. After arrival on site, It turned out that there is no such room and the booking includes 3 people. We arrived late at night, there was no manager so we were put in a 3-guest room, one child slept with us and it was OK. In the morning we met with the manager (lady, dark hair, mid 40s, I don't remember the name). And here began the circus and great mockery. The lady would not let the child sleep with us and no matter what either she's going to put another bed into this room or we can leave hotel or one of us CAN SLEEP ON STREET / CAR! (exact words). She was arrogant, not kind and persistent. How can such a person be a manager and talk to guests like that ?! The room was maybe 5-6sqm with two beds + wardrobe and a niche 2sqm for the next bed. There were no places for anything. After exchanging arguments, calls to booking.com we had to pay for an additional child 50% of the total price already paid! We also got a camp bed to this room after which one had to walk to get to another bed. Thankfully we were leaving hotel in mornings and came back in the evenings.The hotel is old dated, located right on the busiest shopping street, where noise and buzz lasted until 1-2am every night. Very basic breakfast buffet, every day same.The only positive were the housekeepers, smiling and honestly performing their duties. The rooms, although from a different era, were always clean.Never again such managers and hotels!

  The location of this hotel is perfect, at the main street of town, about 5 minutes walk from bus stop (route 161) , & just a short walk to beach. This hotel is one of the oldest in town, & there was a book in the room introduce the history of that area. Nearby the hotel, one can find shops & restaurants. The room is small, & with limited power sockets, so felt a little bit inconvenience. The staffs were friendly, & although we booked room nearly two months advance, the staff took sometime to check our reservation when we arrived. Good breakfast was served. If you choose Costa Caparica spend a vacation, the hotel is your choice.

  The outside of the building is quite attractive and I was happy when we pulled up outside. From the pictures online I thought we would be in for a treat. It looked nice and the price was really cheap. IT IS CHEAP FOR A REASON. The location is really good and a stones throw to the beach. We were there during surf fest and it was very busy. This wasn’t a problem. When we walked into the room, the smell totally overpowering. I thought it smelt of smoke. A bit like an old pub in 2005! The carpet was the problem. Years without deep cleaning. The bed was okay. Bedding clean etc. The bathroom was as smelly as the rest of the room. The toilet and shower were stained. The mat for the shower was yellow instead of clear. Suffice to say I wore my flip-flops in the shower.They had probably repainted the rooms recently and the rest of the hotel looked freshly painted. They need to tear up the carpet and put new flooring. The smell was EVERYWHERE.The other major issue was the paper thin walls. I was woken each night several times. The neighbours were obviously making the most of things but being woken by beds rattling is not great nor trying to get to sleep when you can hear moaning, again not the best!Breakfast was poor!However, if you want a cheap hotel close to the beach then this is great. I’ve never stayed in a 2* hotel so perhaps I expected too much?
