    This was a truly lovely experience. One of our best in Portugal. The design of the place is so creative and thoughtful. The staff is amazingly helpful and professional. The rooms have lovely touches and the breakfast is outstanding

    Rio Art Hotel, a special place to stay in beautiful Setúbal.

    Rio Art is a wonderful boutique hotel in the heart of Setúbal. The friendly hotel staff steered us to some great local food, made it possible for us to get a rental car, and served up a delicious complimentary breakfast every morning. Fresh fruit, juices , breads, and good coffee started our days. Located next to a gorgeous public market with the best freshest local fish and produce, the hotel is very near the main plaza and has a tree lined promenade out the front door. The market has a series of stalls lining the sides serving local fare like the “sande de choco” and bifana, street food sandwiches freshly made. Choco, cuttlefish, has a squid like flavor served up with spicy piri piri sauce, it’s a must try. Our days here at the Rico Art Hotel were delightful, easy, and the highlight of our trip. Obrigadissimo to Miguel Carlos, Ana, Patricia and the whole staff for making our stay so memorable and pleasurable.

    All Around Excellent Hotel

    Everything about the Rio Art Hotel pleased us. From the courteous, thoughtful staff, to the cleanliness of our room, it was an excellent experience. The hotel's location on Avenida Luisa Todi in the heart of the city's old quarter is perfect! We were easily able to walk to any number of really good restaurants on either side of the Avenida, which, BTW, is a wonderful place to walk or jog anytime because the whole area is safe and clean. The Avenida has relatively heavily traffic so is a bit noisy, but our room, which faced onto it, had sound resistant windows, which in turn had sound resistant internal shutters which eliminated any traffic noise problem even during midday. Breakfast was good and straightforward with several decent options. The large fresh produce/ fish/ meat market is about two blocks down the street. A really wonderful four-day stay in Setubal!
