    Excellent location, walk distance from center of Lisbon. You get what you pay for: a simple yet comfortable hotel, clean, with refreshing sheets, and suitable for resting at a reasonable price. Ideal for travelers who are not looking for luxury but simply a place to stay and rest.

    I selected refundable reservation via booking.com. and got booking confirmation from Stay hotel for cancellation deadline with 0 charges and at the same time mentioned non-refundable which contradict their conduct. At the time of cancellation due to flight cancellation well in advance, they forfeited the amount paid as token. This is totally a deceiving tactics being used by Stayhotel.

    The hotel was basic. No amenities. It did have breakfast, but eggs were like rubber and there was no oatmeal. They did not have washcloths or Kleenex in the room. The thermostat kept turning off, and there were loud noises outside till late at night.

    Oh wow — 2.8 stars. That says it all. No wonder the staff couldn’t care less. That rating is generous compared to the nightmare we endured.I booked a **five-night stay** at Stay Hotel Lisboa Centro Chiado from 14–19 August 2025 for my family, 2 adults, 2 kids and my elderly mother, who is a heart patient with limited mobility. I made specific accessibility requests, including a working air conditioner, which were acknowledged in writing. I even have a photo of the booking form clearly stating that the AC must be functional, as my mother would be indoors most of the time due to her disability and long-term ailment.But upon arrival, everything collapsed:- The air conditioner was broken, in the middle of Lisbon’s summer heat — a recurring issue they’ve ignored for months - The shower was already clogged the previous night, which the receptionist admitted, yet they still gave us the room without even checking it - No plumber or contractor showed up for over three hours, while we waited helplessly - The room was completely unsafe for someone with medical needs - And worst of all: no support, no apology, no accountabilityWe had no choice but to **leave the same day**, stranded in Lisbon, scrambling to find alternative accommodation on our own. The hotel has since lied, claiming the issue was “fixed immediately.” That is a blatant attempt to dodge responsibility. CCTV footage will prove otherwise.I’ve sent 32 emails and made 5 phone calls. Their response? A smug dismissal. They only pretended to care once I mentioned escalating to the Portuguese Tourism Board.And let’s talk about health and safety: The Receptionist was the only staff member on duty that day — handling check-ins, complaints, and trying to reach management, who were on leave and refused to speak to me. One person running an entire hotel? That’s not just poor service — it’s dangerous. CCTV shall prove this too!This hotel is malicious, arrogant, and unreliable. It has no place in Portugal, a country we love and respect. I’ve filed formal complaints with ASAE and the Tourism Board, and I will continue to share this experience publicly — with photos, documentation, and evidenceIf you value safety, dignity, and basic human decency, do yourself a favor and stay far away from this hotel.
