  AMAZING location, friendly staff, big room

  This hotel is on the main strip and right in the middle of everything. PERFECT location. Staff was friendly from start to end. Big room with a sound machine/white noise which as pretty cool. Didn't really need it because it was pretty quiet even though hotel is on the main road... listening to frogs on the machine was nice 🤣😊 There is a pool and a table with firepit. Rooms have a small fridge and microwave. After check-in, they do give you a coupon/discount sheet for tastings, food and shopping which was awesome. We used it at a few places and saved $. The free breakfast is a nice touch, nothing fancy. Danish, oatmeal packets, fruit in a cup, coffee, tea... Only thing is the room is very bland.. maybe add a little touch of character to it with something Danish (flag, picture, wall color) it's just a plain white big room. We will for sure stay here again when in Solvang. Staff and location was PERFECT.

  A good value for a one night stay.

  This is an older Inn that is smack in the middle of town. It is by no means fancy but for an older place in this price range, it is nicely appointed having both a micro and a fridge. The room itself was worn but very clean. The king mattress, so-so and the shower pressure was good, along with nice smelling body wash and shampoo. We had a balcony which overlooked the pool and I personally enjoyed hearing the kids play in it. It was completely quiet after 8pm. There is free parking and a "free" breakfast although I would recommend walking a few steps to get a really fresh danish and some stronger coffee. (The Good Seed is directly across the street and their coffee and baked goods are fantastic.) I think given today's prices, this is a good value.   Just another motel with horrible "breakfast" that happens to be in the city center

  I was on my way to Vandenberg. I search on booking.com for hotels with breakfast and booked the one with highest reviews. Breakfast was my only criteria. It turned out to be not a good idea, because the breakfast they serve looked like it came from a 7-11. It is worse than a Days Inn breakfast. Sugary oats packages, fruit cups, pastries and cheap granola bars. Forget anything warm, not even an ounce of protein. Even Days Inn would at least have a bowl of fruits. If they didn't list it as breakfast, anyone would be overjoyed to have a few goodies with the coffee, but they list it as breakfast and I stayed here expecting breakfast and that was a very poor one for a $200/night hotel with excellent reviews. Rest of the things were a minor annoyance but ok like white fluorescent lighting at the sink and bathroom, but bathroom was clean. Bed was comfortable. TV didn't work. It said "No Signal" when you turned it on. Housekeeping showed up right when I was on a work call, and would not understand words like Later, 30 mins, Come back later. Only when I said "No Servicio" they would leave. As a cherry on top, I saw a charge for $20 on my statement. Apparently it was for a charger I had returned unopened and unused. Even if it was a legit charge I got no receipt or invoice for it when they had both my email and phone number. I just happened to be going through my statement when I saw the charge. , Owner at King Frederik Inn, responded to this review meet expectations, especially regarding breakfast, which we understand was an important factor in your booking.Our breakfast is offered as a continental “grab & go” option, and we regret that this did not align with what you were expecting. We apologize for any confusion and for not providing clearer communication at the time.We also regret the interruption from housekeeping during your work call and appreciate you bringing that to our attention.Thank you again for your feedback.   Clean and comfortable

  Clean, comfortable beds, great location in town and very helpful friendly staff. We had an upstairs corner room, which was very quiet which we appreciated . The breakfast included was simple, but tasty (local danish and coffee.) We also loved the coupon for two free wine tastings (worth $50) at a local beautiful winery .   I am revising my previous review, The location is great, the room was clean and it's a bit small, but it has the essentials. I previously said; there were wagons with dirty linens. I was informed, I arrived when their linens were to be taken off to be washed. Correction.
