  I had never heard of The Late Birds Lisbon before reading a travel blog by the “Nomadic Boys.” Between their recommendation and the excellent reviews on TripAdvisor, how could I go wrong?As it turns out, everything went right on my first visit to Lisbon, Portugal.First, the property is perfectly situated in Príncipe Real—close to everything yet just far enough away to provide real tranquility.The nightlife and activity of Bairro Alto are only steps away with its bars, cafés, shops, and even “my” grocery stop, Market Família. Everything you need is nearby.If you don’t find it in Bairro Alto, you will almost certainly find it in Chiado, just down the hill. Slightly more touristy, but full of wonderful cafés, incredible bakeries, and great shopping.Everything is within a short walk—and trust me, after the first day the hills will no longer be a challenge.The Late Birds itself is exactly what a boutique hotel should be: 16 clean, modern rooms in an intimate and welcoming setting.If you enjoy boutique hotels where the atmosphere is relaxed, personal, and welcoming, The Late Birds is the perfect place to stay while exploring Lisbon.From the very beginning the service was exceptional. Communication before arrival was excellent. They helped arrange airport transportation, even checked in with me while I was standing in the long immigration line after tracking my flight, and offered appealing tour options.And then there is the breakfast. The complimentary gourmet continental breakfast is outstanding. You won’t fully believe it until you sit down for your first morning at The Late Birds.But the most important part of the experience is the staff.Have you ever stayed at a hotel where you felt like a personal guest in someone’s home? That’s exactly how it feels here. The owner, Carlos, has created an amazing team that is genuinely friendly and passionate about making sure your stay is perfect. It is clear that he has built a culture of hospitality that makes guests feel welcomed from the moment they arrive.I’ve fallen in love with Lisboa, and I give much credit to everyone at The Late Birds who helped make that happen.Tip: Bring comfortable walking shoes and take time to explore the surrounding neighborhoods on foot—the best of Lisbon is just outside the hotel door.Muito obrigada ao The Late Birds e a toda a equipa por terem tornado a minha primeira viagem a Lisboa perfeita.(Thank you so much to The Late Birds and the whole team for making my first trip to Lisbon perfect.)

  Everything about this place is perfect… the location, the room , the outdoor area, the pool, breakfast and most importantly the staff. Got so many wonderful recommendations from staff. Wonderful gay retreat!!!

  A Truly Memorable Stay at The Late Birds Lisbon Resort

  Late Birds was recommended to me by a few friends who had stayed there and they were right. Even before I arrived, the staff checked in with me through emails to make sure I was ready for my stay. From the moment I arrived in Lisbon, my experience at The Late Birds Lisbon Resort was exceptional. I was warmly greeted at the airport with a seamless transfer and felt the hospitality from the very first moment. Once I got to the resort, check-in was smooth, friendly, and personal — setting the tone for what turned out to be an unforgettable visit.The staff went above and beyond to make me feel completely at home. Carlos, our gracious host, along with Philippe, Ricardo, Ryan, and the rest of the amazing team, created such a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Their genuine warmth and attention to detail made my experience that much more special. The rooms were beautifully designed and incredibly comfortable — the perfect retreat after exploring the city. The resort’s location in the heart of the Chiado neighborhood made it easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and some of Lisbon’s best sights. Everything I wanted to see was just a short stroll or tram ride away.A highlight of my stay was the sunset cruise on the river — a magical experience with amazing views, great company, and the Lisbon sunset was stunning. Thanks especially to Philippe for captaining his boat for all of us!The Late Birds Lisbon is more than just a place to stay — it’s a home away from home. The warmth, friendliness, and care of the entire team made my first visit to Lisbon truly unforgettable. I'll definitely be back!
