Location

This hotel is located between the historical centre and the main business area of Lisbon. Guests will find links to the public transport network and shops within 300 m of the hotel and there are many attractions close by, including a bull fighting arena (Campo Pequeno, 300 m), The Library & Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga (900 m) and the Oceanário de Lisboa (8 km), to mention but a few. Lisbon Airport is only 5 km away.

Facility

The hotel has 31 suites and 264 double rooms, which are located on 14 storeys and are reachable by lift. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (for a fee) or in the car park (for a fee). Further services and facilities include a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, room service (for a fee), an alarm call service, a laundry service and a hairdresser. Rooms

Rooms feature a living room and a bathroom. Air conditioning ensures comfortable temperatures. Rooms have a double bed or a queen-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, an alarm clock and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Slippers are included. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. A hairdryer, bathrobes and a telephone are available for daily use. Various dining options are available, including a restaurant with air conditioning, a breakfast room and a bar. At breakfast, guests serve themselves at the generous buffet.     DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!Absolutely shocking experience with Grand Lisboa Hotel & Spa — and honestly one of the most money-driven, inflexible booking experiences I’ve ever dealt with.Yes, I booked a non-cancellation room — but my stay is still more than 6 weeks away, and I paid close to £600 for just 3 nights. I reached out due to a genuine private family emergency, expecting at least some understanding or basic human flexibility. Instead, all I got were cold, rigid responses and a flat refusal to help in any way.This is supposed to be a “5-star” hotel, yet there was zero empathy and zero willingness to even discuss alternatives like credit, date changes, or partial refunds. If this were any other proper 5-star hotel, they would at least try to work with you — here it just feels completely money-hungry.Honestly, the existing reviews already show what sort of hotel this is — and sadly my experience just confirms it. Once they have your money, don’t expect understanding or customer care.Because of how poorly this has been handled, I will be attempting a chargeback through my bank and speaking to my travel insurers, and I’ll also be sharing my experience online so people can see exactly how customers are treated.If this is how they deal with guests weeks before arrival during a genuine emergency, I can’t imagine how issues would be handled during a stay.DO NOT STAY HERE.     Adequate just never a 5 star hotel

    Just never ever a 5 star Hotel, there must be some mistake.On good thing, we arrived early and they let us check in around 11am which was a great start.Sadly nothing but disappointment from then on.Had a few minor issue with the room, coffee maker is not the usual Nesspresso and the cápsul was stuck, tired draws and cabinets falling about and a shower impossible to adjust to temperature.Reported, came back to coffee maker strewn across counter, shower still not working. Went to use the ‘SPA’ to be told the pool is closed, you can only use the jacuzzi if you pre book and pay for a massage. So the SPA has half a gym a sauna and a steam room. A SPA with no water. It’s cheap and it’s ok but don’t book it expecting a five star experience. Coffee capsules are €1.50 in the room after the 1st 2. That kinda sums up the attitude here. 3 star experience.     Definitely not 5 star!

    We stayed four nights, chose this hotel for its proximity to the arena. It’s is also close to the metro. This is not a five star hotel.Some staff were excellent - the receptionist from Brazil - while others seemed like they really didn’t want to be there. The entrance lobby is well kept and spacious, the corridors are very dark,our room was tired and strangely without bedside tables - there is a shelf headboard. Bed sheets and towels were soft and clean, small robe and slippers provided. We were on the 10th floor and found the aircraft noise quite disturbing in the early hours - from about 5am.The electric blind between the shower and bedroom was a bit odd. Breakfast was ok - we discovered you can request eggs cooked to order. The buffet is average but quickly replished and kept tidy. The coffee is good. Get an uber from the airport, not one of the taxies waiting for walk ups!     Good value for money. It’s out of the action a bit but you would have to pay more. The only trouble with the VIP Grand is its name. It ain’t VIP and it ain’t Grand. It is a very busy “travellers” accommodation. AND it ain’t no Spa. They need to put their thinking caps on to come up with a better name that doesn’t give customers the wrong expectations. Although it is located 20mins from the main square in the old town it’s surrounded by public transport. My room on the 5 level that overlooked road and nature strip was OK. It was reasonably spacious. The bath had a hand rail that was essential. The lights and blinds were fun to play with. Adequate power outlets and the free WIFI worked ok. The breakfast was typical and acceptable. I found the staff OK given that it gets very busy.
