    Nice budget stay at Amparo Residence

    I only stayed one night in the Amparo residence, but it was a good stay. The room was fine for my needs. I reserved a cheap budget room and that's what I got so it was fine. No view to speak of and the room was in need of redecoration but as I said it was their budget room. Breakfast was nice (usual continental stuff) Staff can speak a little English so that was helpful as my Portuguese is very limited.

    A decent enough hotel with spacious rooms. The decor could do with a facelift as could the showers and facilities. The staff were brilliant and really helpful with booking taxis etc. The food was very nice and breakfast was a wide range of things from fruit and cereals to yoghurts and meats. No kettle in the room!!

    A good location in the center, close to the bus station and to the sea. Otherwise a tired looking interior. The stuff was not very friendly, but the room was very clean. Because of no air-conditioning, we left the windows open at night. Till very late, the noise from other air-conditioning units from the street below prevented our sleeping. But, lovely restaurants nearby.

    Room was clean and nice, thanks to the cleaning lady.French and English people did not have to do anything extraordonary.But as a Norwegian, actually living in Funchal, I had to wear mask, ok. But plastic gloves for a coffee😭😭😭😭And room with balcony? Haha....what a joke!Also TV did not work.After a great job from hotels.com I finally got my room with the balcony. And a more angry lady.But I will never stay here again, and I can not reccomend this place to anybody.

    Rooms were good als well as the bathroom. Breakfast was good but diner was not that great.Overall atmosphere was a little awkward, don't know why.The thing that I was surprised about is that your backpack is put behind the frontdoor if you are leaving later during the day. Not safe at all since everyone can come in and there is no one behind the reception. They can improve that for sure!
