    Lovely staff and pretty hotel. We stayed at two hotels during our time in Madeira, and this was the worst for value. It’s a bit of a steep walk from the centre, but it’s more the little things like scratchy bed sheets, no complimentary coffee in the room, and a poor breakfast. Our other hotel had bigger rooms, free espressos and was situated in the centre for a similar price. This place is OK if you want somewhere secluded and quiet, plus the staff were exceptional

    Really enjoyed this hotel! The property was gorgeous and offered breakfast for a low price that was definitely worthwhile, especially on one of the terraces in the morning. Hotel room was spacious and had a great view. Located close to old town Funchal, about 10/15 minute walk downhill. Will note that walking back to hotel requires going uphill, which gets old fast. We rented a car the second day and the hotel was able to offer garage space (very grateful). The in room minibar was always stocked for a price, which at times was convenient. Overall enjoyed our time here!

    What a great place so friendly and clean and two of the cutest Labradors ive met.The staff go out the way to set an atmosphere of relaxation and ensure all needs are met, they help book trips and point great places to visit and eat at. A big thanks to Nico for his advice.its on a hill like all of funchal but not too bad and if you don't feel like (after a few glasses of wine in the nearby old town - five mins walk) then a cab is about 5 euros (top tip get them to turn on the meters I had one who didn't and charged me double).The breakfast is well worth it you get a wide selection of everything you could want and freshly made pancakes are a must and eating outside on the terrace overlooking the harbour is a great start to the day. And the gardens in the hotel are exquisite the gardener loves it he works so hard and you notice it.A definite recommendation i'd certainly return without a second thought.

    An amazing stay in Funchal

    This place ticks so many boxes! A beautiful hotel in a gorgeous setting with very comfortable rooms and excellent services. We spent 5 nights there. The location is quite uphill so may not be suitable for all. But for those who don’t mind a bit of walking on hills, there are lots of restaurants and bars nearby in the Old Town. The breakfast is fantastic and the rooms, big and comfortable. Strongly recommended!

    Rooms were large and comfortable. Views were marvellous. Staff were fantastic. Breakfast is table service , would probably prefer buffet. Be prepared for hills , however there is a bus stop directly outside the property.
