    Charming hotel with excellent, friendly & effective staff in all depts. Right in the centre of old Funchal yet quiet. One of the best restaurants in town for dinner (we didn’t find better) which also provides an excellent breakfast. Can’t fault it!     A very comfortable hotel with great central location

    Great hotel, worthy of 5*. Its central locations meant that all areas of lower Funchal were within easy walking distance. Taxi fares to upper tropical and botanical gardens not too expensive either. Lovely room. Very comfortable bed. Very nice breakfast. Evening meals in restaurant also of very good quality. The serving staff were very attentive. especially Anna Carolina who made us feel very welcome. We did not use but did view the Swimming pool, Jacuzzi and sun lounge area on roof (we were too busy doing other things!) but these looked very nice too. All in all, a superb stay. Thank you.     Super Hotel, Wonderful Staff

    Super hotel in a great location for access to central Funchal, offering delicious cuisine at both breakfast and dinner. However, it was the welcoming, helpful and efficient service of the staff that made this hotel stand our for us. Every member of staff we engaged with - the cleaner of our room, the bar tenders, the waiters and waitresses and the staff on reception - made every effort to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. I would like to make a very special mention to Claudia for her kindness and compassion when I turned up at the reception desk in shock with a bad injury to my face after a fall in town. She demonstrated such empathy for me and took the decisive action to call me a taxi to the hospital when I really wasn't in a state to organise anything for myself. On my return to the hotel, Claudia made sure that I had everything I needed to recover and continued to check on me whenever she saw me. Thank you to Claudia for being there for me and my husband when we were in such need and thank you to all the staff for your excellent service throughout our holiday.
