Location

The enchanting location by the sea makes this hotel an ideal holiday destination. The hotel lies around 5 min from the town centre and offers a view of the beach promenade as well as direct access to the sea.

Facility

The hotel has 47 suites and 266 double rooms, which are located on 10 storeys and are reachable by lift. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Services such as a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access (for a fee) allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a newspaper stand, a TV room, a playroom and a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Sport

While the adults swim a few laps in the outdoor pool, children can enjoy splashing about in their own swimming area. A sun terrace, sun loungers, and parasols are available. The pool bar serves a selection of refreshing drinks. For guests who wish to keep active, tennis, bocce and fishing are available. A wide range of indoor sporting activities are also offered, for example a gym and yoga or, for a fee, table tennis, billiards, darts and squash. There is a wellness area with a spa, a hammam, hydrotherapy treatments and thalassotherapy treatments and, for an additional fee, a sauna, a steam bath, a beauty salon and massage treatments. Additional leisure activities include a kids' club, live music and a dance club.

Meals

Dining facilities include a restaurant (with high chairs), a breakfast room, a café and a bar. All-inclusive can be booked. A generous breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner offer plenty of delicious variety. Diet meals, gluten-free meals, vegetarian dishes and children's meals can be prepared on request. In addition, special catering options, picnics and snacks are available. The hotel offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

    Recent holiday at Enotel Lido

    Have just returned from The Enotel Lido after a lovely family break.The hotel is well situated for a nice walk into the centre of Funchal or close to bus stops or plenty of taxis.The rooms are very spacious and are kept nice and clean by the cleaning staff.We are majority of the time in the buffet restaurant,there was plenty of choice ,deserts were amazing.On our 2nd night the hotel had arranged a meal in the madeiran restaurant as we had gone to celebrate my son's 40 th birthday,we enjoyed the food and the staff at the end came out with a birthday cake and sang to him which was really nice.One of the main things about this hotel is the exceptional staff ,they are some of the friendliest staff we have ever had and the hardest working,they cannot do enough for you .My Grandchildren enjoyed the swimming pool ,the only thing I was surprised at I thought there might have been a life guard ,even if it was to sometimes blow a whistle at older children who at times were a bit too "lively"when there was younger children about.There is plenty of bars to get drinks from throughout the day ,and cold water machines.The piano bar was nice to sit in the evenings ,bar staff were brilliantWe found sun beds each day but I do wonder when it's really busy whether it would be as easy and I think people need to be aware it's not exceptable to reserve beds as we noticed beds had towels on and were not be used.We had a lovely family holiday and hopefully will return sometime.

    Fantastic hotel. We upgraded to a suite so we had a massive balcony overlooking the sea. Lovely quiet room and an amazing view. Food and drink as fabulous as ever. It's just a lovely hotel. Booked again for next year.

    Don’t expect the world.

    The hotel itself is in fair if a little dated condition. lt is spotlessly clean throughout, the bedrooms and all common areas are well maintained.Unfortunately several factors confirm that it cannot be classed as 5star. We were fortunate, we traveled with saga and the attention and their support is superb (we are still on our second week). Let’s have the plus side first.Wonderful staff in every department , they really care. We were allocated a very convenient room close to lifts and facilities. The bar has a good selection of branded drinks.It’s easy to get to town by bus or taxi, buses are fairly good value but the taxi cost 14 euros each way.Now comes the negative.The main restaurant is like a works canteen, no atmosphere and rows of bland black tables. The buffet self serve area is small and the choice are minimal and dreadfully repetitive (breakfast is the same every day).Unfortunately the quality leaves a lot to be desired.would you believe that there is no table service at the bar, you have to get your own drinks (5 star! ! ) and no snacks served. The lifts are a challenge, nowhere near enough of them.Entertainment is a bit hit and miss.Oh, and be aware the leaking shower door!All in all fairly comfy , but certainly not a 5 star.     Our happy place

    Our sixth visit to this exceptional hotel already eying our seventh. This hotel is absolutely our go-to hotel. From its fabulous position on the Lido Promenade, its food and its staff, it gives us everything we need in a hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean and afford a great view of the ocean. The food is to die for and if you can't find anything in the Atlantic buffet (which is superb) then you can also visit the Madeiran or Italian restaurant (there's also a Japanese themed restaurant but sadly I have a seafood allergy). The Piano Bar on the reception floor, staffed by really friendly staff. We found the staff were pretty much all long serving (Piano Bar 26 & 27 years) and the Atlantic Buffet (27 years) speaks volumes. Special mention to Marisa. A new girl who is perpetual motion in action. The hotel falconer (to deter pigeons and seagulls) is almost not needed as Marisa clears up almost before you finish. In fact we joked that the pigeons looked for who was on duty and didn't come when it was Marisa! She will undoubtedly be a great asset to Enotel Lido. There is a bus stop just 50 metres to the left of the hotel with regular buses into Funchal, although they can get packed at times. Behind and above the hotel are plenty of bars and restaurants. To the rear of the hotel on the left is the fort with more great bars and restaurants and to the right is a fabulous gentle walk to Formosa beach then carry on to Camera De Lobos, a pretty little village and the birthplace of poncha (the very potent local moonshine)All in all the perfect place to base your holiday. We'll be back and well done to all staff.     Nine of us age 12 to 77 wonderful holiday. Upgrade on our room 50th anniversary celebration. Flowers and champagne. Husband gluten dairy free lots of choice. Staff very helpful and friendly. Special Italian meal for evening of our anniversary. Even made us a celebration gluten dairy free cake. Cannot thank the staff enough made it very special for us.
