This hotel is located in the north of Madeira (in the municipality of S. Vicente, district of Feiteiras), nestled in a rural setting. The Our Lady of Fatima chapel is located about 150 m from the hotel complex, while guests will reach the town centre (Vila de São), the tourist centre, the volcanic caves, and the volcanism centre in about 20 minutes by foot. The beach, the bathing areas, and São Vincente promenade lie about a 25-minute walk away, and it is some 40 km to the airport.

Facility

41 rooms, including junior suites, 5 single rooms and 35 double rooms, are available to guests in a 2-storey main building and 2 auxiliary buildings. Guests are warmly welcomed by multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the 24-hour reception desk in the lobby. Check-in/check-out service is available round the clock.     We stayed at this hotel with our children in two different rooms, and the experience fell significantly below what is expected from a 4-star property.Neither room had a kettle, meaning no access to basic in-room tea or coffee — a standard amenity in hotels of this category.More concerning was the presence of visible mold in both rooms. Our eldest daughter experienced an allergic reaction as a direct result. Although the hotel relocated us after a few nights, the replacement rooms also had mold on the walls and ceilings. This indicates a systemic issue rather than an isolated incident, and raises serious concerns about hygiene and health standards.Guests are provided with a single 1.5L bottle of water upon arrival, with no daily replenishment. This level of service does not align with what most would reasonably expect from a 4-star hotel.Breakfast selection was minimal and lacked variety — no fish options at all, and only one type of ham/meat and cheese. Dinner was equally underwhelming, offering just two choices, neither of which stood out in quality or taste.The pool area is enclosed in glass, limiting the overall experience, and the water temperature was approximately 18°C — too cold for comfortable use. The setup also makes it difficult to enjoy sunlight or relax properly, even in good weather.Overall, while the hotel is marketed as a 4-star property, the actual experience is much closer to a 3-star standard at best. Based on our stay, there are clear gaps in maintenance, service, and overall guest experience that need to be addressed. In the case of breakfast, we offer a varied selection that includes fruit, hot options, and homemade cakes, which are regularly rotated, although they may not meet all individual preferences.Regarding the swimming pool, its design and temperature are consistent with the hotel’s concept and technical parameters.     Nice view but hotel is not good and service is poor . No place to dry clothes after hiking and extremely rude personnel are not speaking English.     Spent a wonderful week at this lovely hotel with my best friend at the end of September. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, with being greeted with a dram of Madeira wine on arrival! The location is beautiful with wonderful views of the vale, you do need a car, we were lucky to have a hire car, the only small downside is parking can be limited on an evening but this isn't a deal breaker as there is parking on the street outside. The pool was welcome on a warm day. The bar was good and we ate in the restaurant one evening, you have to book in advance for this as it does get full with being small. Beds were comfortable, room was very clean, fridge in room but no kettle unfortunately. Breakfast was fabulous, with plenty of fresh items daily. I would definitely stay here again, this was my first trip to Madeira and I will definitely be back. I would recommend staying in this area of Madeira to escape the crowds of Funchal, we managed a day trip there. Lovely walks in the area, in the town there is a supermarket and petrol station, bars and restaurants along the seafront. When asked staff also made us a 'picnic' bag of breakfast items for our early morning flight on our final day.Thanks for the lovely stay!
