    Very disrespectful experience

    rating06 Jan 2026

I went for an expensive room for my last holiday night on Madeira, looking for a balcony with sea view. Besides the fact that the balcony of my room wasn’t exactly overlooking the sea (which was 100m away behind parking lot and roundabout), the building was undergoing reconstruction, which wasn’t announced. Impossible to go on the balcony. Then the workers woke me up early morning to start their working day on my balcony. Curtains remained closed all through my stay. I did ask politely to change rooms, which wasn’t possible (maybe the hotel was full off season, maybe they didn’t want to change). The reception advised to write to the management, which I did. They agreed on a refund of 15%, … which they never paid. Well, that was the most unprofessional and disrespectful hotel experience I had.

Comfortable Hotel in Scenic Porto Moniz

    rating01 May 2025

I stayed at this scenic hotel during April 21-23 while on a guided hiking trip around Madeira. This hotel is undergoing some exterior renovations, which didn’t impact my room. I really enjoyed staying here! It is within walking distance of two supermarkets, several restaurants, and the rock pools. Liliana is the friendly and personable front desk staffer who is quick to help the guests, whether it is providing a fluffy towel to use after exiting the nearby rock pools or connecting an outdoor hose so I could rinse off the bottom of my hiking boots. Ask her how she got her first name!My room was quiet (facing the interior parking lot), and it had a room thermostat I could adjust for my comfort, plentiful towels, a special little towel to be used on hiking boots, minifridge, and a room safe. The only thing I can quibble about is that the bed was hard. I had to fold a blanket lengthwise and put it under the bottom sheet to provide some cushioning. Liliana indicated that others have complained about the hard beds, and the hotel will be getting new beds that are even more firm. That is a shame. I would encourage management to purchase some pillow top mattress covers that could be used by some guests (such as those like me who have some arthritis in their hips). This hotel offers a breakfast buffet with a wide range of hot and cold food items. Delicious! Everything was well organized, and the tables were promptly cleared of dirty dishes and cleaned. The staff working the breakfast buffet were helpful and friendly. I would stay here again, but I’d bring a slim Thermorest sleep mat to use for additional cushioning on the bed.

This weekend I went to the hotel where the pool was supposed to be under maintenance/construction and they told me that I could enter after we were already in the water, after about 2 minutes a man came running to say: Oh, if it's burning your eyes or skin, go fast to the recession and complain. After a while I looked at my wrist and realized that it was very dark. THE WATER IN THE POOL WAS COMPLETELY GREEN. Inside the pool they must have poured some Abrasive product that damaged the shine of my pandoras and now the hotel does not want to be responsible.Hotel without any skills. On top of that, they are rude.I DON'T ADVISE TO GO HORRIBLE

    Lovely Stay

    rating25 Jun 2024

A lovely peaceful hotel in the centre of the resort. The staff on reception were always friendly and very helpful. Checkin was quick. The rooms are clean and fresh with a nice design. The rooms are very peaceful so you can sleep well. Breakfast was delicious and fresh, the fruit salad was fresh and tasty. I would stay here again and I would recommend it to others. Great place.

    It was ok

    rating13 Jan 2024

Our room at the Euro Moniz was just ok. We had two different mattress in our bed. Safe was broken and all lookes a bit old and over used. There is an indoor pool in the underground floor wich shares a big window with the hotel garage, it wasn’t very inviting. On the top there is a bar with self service, the view was really nice from up there. The breakfast is a bouffet with different option but nothing more than ok, the coffee was really not good. Finally it can be a good option in the area but I expected a bit more from a 3 stars hotel.
