The hotel was modernised in 2026. The hotel has 52 rooms, including 6 junior suites and a suite, which are located on 5 storeys and are reachable by 2 lifts. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access (no extra charge) allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. Additional facilities include a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park (for a fee).     Average hotel, do not expect luxury. Rooms small, dated and the balcony depressing. Luis on reception is fantastic, always a smile. The location is excellent .

    We had a great family stay at this hotel all the facilities were spot on and the staff lovely , even before we arrived the hotel helped arrange our excursions, it is in a very central location and easy to get around, the snack bar on the roof is a nice touch and the rooms serve a purpose the breakfast is basic but has everything needed, would Highly recommend staying here, a big shout out to Caesar on reception who sorted excursions and restaurants for us

    Prior to our trip taking place we were offered the option of changing hotels because of the building works in the vicinity. We are so pleased we decided to stick with the original booking as the hotel was central and the building works did not impact on us at all.The staff were all friendly and welcoming, rooms comfortable and very clean and the roof terrace was a real gem with lovely Lite Bite Menu ti choose from. Breakfast also had everything we needed with a good choice so we were never disappointed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily stay here again.     Rude man at reception!

    Shockingly rude man at reception. Arrived as a group and from the moment we arrived until we left, every interaction with him was a bad experience. All other staff were very pleasant! Basic hotel. Excellent location. Nice rooftop terrace. Pity about the man at reception!! He should not be working in hospitality! Other staff tried to compensate for his awful behaviour.     Good location for easy walking around Funchal city.

    The hotel is situated in the heart of Funchal and from here there is generally level walking around the city.Once you realise that this is a city hotel and not a resort hotel (i.e. ocean view, large sunny balconies, entertainment, etc) things become acceptable. We chose the hotel for its location and it delivered on that. Sunny rooms at the front and shady rooms on the side.The rooms seem to be either spacious bedroom with small bathroom, or spacious bathroom with small bedroom.We were lucky with a spacious bedroom but the balcony was minuscule, but better than no balcony I imagine.The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathroom shower was very good.Having said that, you don’t really want to spend much time in the room, it was a bit uninspiring, and TV was hopeless for English channels. Tea/coffee facilities and a fridge were included.Although there was an area to sit and read we missed having a pleasant lounge area to relax in.On the top floor, accessible by lift, is the sun deck, swimming pool, and snack bar, with pleasant city and mountain views. This feature was a pleasant addition to the hotel.Breakfast was good, nothing to complain about although I never mastered the automatic coffee machine!The breakfast room at certain times was quite full but generally there is plenty of space.Staff were a mix of friendly and grumpy but no real issues here.
