Location

The hotel is just a 10-minute walk from the city centre. Located nearby are restaurants and popular local bars, which offer live music most evenings during the week. Public transport is available from directly in front of the hotel. Barreirinha beach is also in the area along with Teleférico to Monte (cable car) and Balão Panorâmico (hot air balloon service which offers views of the area). In addition, Funchal Airport is 30 km away.

Facility

The hotel has 96 non-smoking rooms, which are located on 9 storeys and are reachable by lift. The friendly staff at the reception desk in the lobby are happy to answer any questions. Guests receive a welcome drink upon arrival. Amenities available at the hotel include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional facilities include a playroom. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park (for a fee). Other services include a babysitting service (for a fee), medical assistance, a transfer service and a laundry service. Active guests can make use of the bicycle hire service (for a fee) to explore the surrounding area.

Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Most units include a balcony with sea views, where guests can relax and linger a while. Rooms have a double bed, a king-size bed or a sofa bed. Children's beds can be requested for younger guests. A safe and a minibar are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi (for a fee) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. Slippers are included. Bathrobes and a telephone are available in the bathrooms, which are equipped with a shower. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Family rooms are available for parents with children.

Sport

While the adults swim a few laps in the outdoor pool, children can enjoy splashing about in their own swimming area. A terrace with sun loungers and parasols is available. A variety of refreshing drinks await guests at the pool bar. For guests who wish to keep active, cycling/mountain biking and golf are available. Water sports enthusiasts can enjoy windsurfing, kayaking and diving. A gym and squash or, for a fee, billiards, are among the sport and leisure options available. After a long day, guests can relax in the wellness area, which features a spa and massage treatments. A sauna is among the facilities available for an extra fee. Parents can unwind while the kids can participate in an entertainment programme full of fun activities.

Meals

Dining facilities include a dining room, a breakfast room, a café and a bar. Guests can indulge their palates at the non-smoking restaurant, which features air conditioning and a separate area for smokers. Refreshing drinks at the beach bar are a perfect way to enjoy warm weather. Bed and breakfast can be booked. At breakfast, guests serve themselves at the generous buffet. Various dishes can be ordered à la carte for lunch and dinner. Diet meals, gluten-free meals, vegetarian dishes, lactose-free food and vegan food can be prepared on request. The hotel offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

    Most amazing experience, special shoutout to Nancy and Diogo, they went above and beyond with a difficult travel experience we had. The food was incredible, the customer service at the hotel was next level. We would love to go back to this hotel the next time we are in Funchal.

    Nice Walkable location. the views from the balconies were great. the rooms were spacious and clean. the restaurant was great. Yam the waiter was fantastic! The best Caesar salad on the island!!! the beef tartar tacos were also great along with the veggie bowls.     Nice hotel and location, not great pool area

    Stayed here end of April/beginning of May for a week, the room was OK and so was breakfast. The weather wasn’t great and cold and wet and there was work be done at the pool with noisy cutters and jack hammers which made it unrelaxing.There are plenty of nice bars and restaurants behind the hotel and there is a quick shortcut there.It’s a short walk to the old town but that is very busy when there are cruise ships in.     I’ve just spent two days at the Next Hotel and honestly, it exceeded my expectations in every way. I stayed on the 10th floor with a beautiful sea view — the room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. All the staff were friendly, attentive, and professional throughout my stay. I had dinner at the hotel and it was excellent, with great service to match. Breakfast offered a wide variety of high-quality options — something for everyone. The good weather allowed me to enjoy the outdoor pools, and I especially loved the rooftop pool — definitely a highlight of the stay. Overall, a fantastic experience and one I would happily repeat.
