Location

This hotel is located in the centre of Funchal, just 10 minutes away from the beach. The immediate vicinity is brimming with shops, boutiques, bars, nightclubs and restaurants. Links to the public transport network are a comfortable walk away.

Facility

The resort has 22 suites and 316 double rooms, which are located on 18 storeys and are reachable by lift. The reception desk is open round the clock. Services such as a safe and a currency exchange service ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The resort offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere. A number of shops, including a supermarket, are great for shopping or just browsing. The grounds of the resort feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a newspaper stand, a TV room, a playroom and a library. Parking spaces are available to guests travelling by car (for a fee). Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and central heating. Guests can enjoy the sea view from a balcony or terrace. All rooms are carpeted and include a king-size bed and a sofa bed. Children's beds can be requested for younger guests. A safe and a minibar are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi (for a fee) are provided as well. Cleaning on departure is among the services offered. A hairdryer and bathrobes are available in the bathrooms, which are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. Wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms are also available. Sport

While the adults swim a few laps in the outdoor pool, children can enjoy splashing about in their own swimming area. Refreshing drinks at the pool bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub offer the perfect way to unwind. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. A variety of activities such as tennis, crazy golf and fishing or, for a fee, cycling/mountain biking, are offered at the resort. A wide range of sports are available, including water sports such as windsurfing, canoeing, snorkelling, water aerobics and aquafit or, for a fee, diving. Sports enthusiasts are also offered a wide range of indoor activities, including a gym, table tennis, billiards and darts. Various wellness options are available at the complex, including a spa, a sauna, a steam bath, a hammam, a beauty salon and massage treatments. Entertainment options and leisure facilities include an entertainment programme and live music.

Meals

Dining facilities include a dining room, a café, a bar and a pub. Guests can enjoy the culinary delights of the non-smoking, air-conditioned restaurant, which provides high chairs for children. Catering options include bed and breakfast and half board. A generous breakfast buffet gives guests many delicious reasons to get out of bed in the morning. At lunch and dinner, there are plenty of tempting options at the buffet or à la carte. Dinner is also served as a set menu. Special culinary options, such as diet meals, are also available. The resort also offers special catering options.

    Great hotel in an excellent location. Rooms very spacious with a great bathroom. Lots of spacious communal areas and bars. Lovely indoor and outdoor pools. Breakfast offered anything you could have possibly wanted! Great knowledge about gluten free options and brought a plate of gluten free bread and pastries for a coeliac guest every morning. Definitely recommend for a good base to explore Funchal and easy pick ups for tours.

    We are frequent visitors to this hotel. We were warmly greeted at reception and our room was on the 18th floor (we had previously requested a high floor for the view). The room was very comfortable with a view of he sea and bay and a view of the streets around. There was a sofa and armchair which were very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and varied and staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. The pool area is beautifully landscaped and well maintained. The pool bar is quite large, with a varied menu. All in all a very comfortable stay made better by the efficient staff. The hotel is well situated for restaurants and the town.     Big pool-area, big indoor swimmingpool, big but boring juniors suite, nice outdoor taverna, Ok pub and a very good location. The breakfast was messy and not much topping, otherwise good with specialities from Madeira. But the indoor Taverna restaurant - the worst lobster ever!     I am still giving a five star , with some suggestions for the staff.Stayed for a week.Staff at front desk are so friendly and helpful. All of them WONDERFUL.The room near pool, room 312, was so spacious, beautifully redone.attention to detail, with wall paper, fabric on chair, lights by bed and bedsides. Nice outdoor sitting area with view.NegativesThe luggage was never brought to our room first day, after waiting and reminding. We had to go get it ourselves.The room had and still did afterwards, a sewerage smell in the bathroom. We advised management, but the smell returned after a day.Also, the bathtub is so slippery, it’s like a death trap.The cleaning staff never had the room like the first day. It was like they took off the good crisp linen and replaced it with an old used sheet. Never plumping up pillows, never giving milk for coffee, and wash cloths. Also once , no bath towels. These are things that do not make a five star hotel.I am still giving a five star for the staff at the front desk, their help booking all our numerous hikes and day trips, and for the location and large room.
