    Hotel delivers on all areas with just a few minor points if you are being picky, overall a good stay & would happily return. Staff - are friendly and very helpful at reception with anything from the parking app, bus times and trips etc. Room - we had a pool view (1010) on ground floor so great for nipping in and out. Twin beds pushed together to make a large comfy bed. Good size room with fridge and safe. Water was chargeable after used up, go to the local supermarket as nearby. Robes and towels supplied but be mindful shower is over the bath so you have to step into bath (slight downside). Room got hot during night, so had to put Air-con on and this was a bit noisy. Plenty of hangers in cupboard. Good reading light by bed. Small patio area facing pool. Breakfast - ok, had plenty of choices (all the usual), juices were watery but we found the real OJ in the middle section. Had better on our travels but also much worse elsewhere also! Did the job and we never went hungry! Only had a sandwich once which was fine and never eat an evening meal in hotel due to restaurants outside being close & good. Very walkabout, try the "Fork" app as discounts offered also. Drinks - happy hour 5-6.30pm & 9-10pm (50% off and 20% off cocktails). 10% discount for food and drink for Pestana members outside of these times. Pools - outside ones aren't heated but you get accustomed to the temp once in, well maintained. There was an inside heated pool also. Pool towels -were small and quite thin for a 4 star hotel should be better quality & larger to cover the sun bed. These get changed in your room if required. Plenty of beds and NO need to get up early and safe a bed! Car parking-you can get 2hrs free each day at hotel car park. Street parking needs app but hotel staff were very helpful in setting up for me and it's only about 60 cents an hour (free from 8pm to 8am). Buses- stop just outside of hotel with buses 1, 2. & 48 (4 goes partly back to hotel). E2.05 if paying cash but you can buy a pre-paid ticket for X journeys saving you some money. We walked into Funchal and it's about 45mins but we visited a couple of gardens along the way. More up hill if walking back. Small shop on-site selling most emergencies but consider supermarket (pingo? Are cheapest).     Lovely stay in a superb hotel. Lovely room at front of hotel which provided for every need. Beds were extremely comfortable with extra large luxury pillows. All the staff were kind and helpful. An absolute credit to this hotel. Special thanks to Dalila who helped us with an issue we had initially with our room which she handled with care and diplomacy ensuring we were completely comfortable during our stay at the Pestana Promenade.     The location was perfect, close to everything. The pool and breakfast buffet where great. Dalila, the concierge at the hotel, was amazing! I can't say enough good things about her. She helped arrange all of our tours (5) and airport transfers in advanced. All of our tours where A+. She is super responsive and professional. The only constructive feedback I could give would be that the hallways could use a little upgrade in paint and carpet.     Filipe at reception is excellent, breakfast is amazing, rooms are really spacious, bathroom too and the internal pool is like 30 degrees Celcius. Lots of restaurants within 5 min walk. You can park on the street for about 2 hours for 1 Euro, or also at the hotel garage. The only drawback was the weather and rain but what can one do. Madeira is amazing. Rent a car and drive around!
