Location

This apartment hotel is located right in the resort district of Funchal, around 2 km from the city centre. In a number of minutes, guests will arrive at the sea, the saltwater baths as well as various bars, restaurants, shops as well as public transport (all within 200 m). The nearest nightclubs are around 1 km away and guests will find the airport roughly 20 km from the hotel.

Facility

The apartment hotel has 146 rooms, including 68 junior suites and 72 studios, which are located on 6 storeys and are reachable by lift. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities available at the hotel include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. A number of shops, including a supermarket, are great for shopping or just browsing. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and central heating. A balcony with a partial sea view is included in most units and encourages guests to linger a while. Children's beds and extra beds can be requested for younger guests. A safe provides secure storage for guests' personal property. The rooms have a kitchenette with a refrigerator, a microwave and a tea/coffee station. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, an alarm clock and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Sport

Guests can strike that perfect balance between exercise and relaxation in one of the 5 indoor and outdoor pools. The freshwater pool area, which is in part heated, also has a children's pool. Guests can treat themselves to refreshing drinks at the poolside snack bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub. Sun loungers and parasols on the sun terrace create a perfect space for guests to relax and unwind. A variety of activities are available at the hotel, for example cycling/mountain biking, golf and horse riding or, for a fee, tennis, bocce and crazy golf. A wide range of indoor sporting activities are also offered, for example a gym, billiards, yoga, callisthenics and aerobics or, for a fee, table tennis, darts and squash. There is a wellness area with a spa and a hammam and, for an additional fee, a sauna, a steam bath and massage treatments. Guests of all ages have the opportunity to enjoy a fun entertainment programme.

Meals

The dining area includes a bar. Guests can enjoy the culinary delights of the non-smoking, air-conditioned restaurant, which provides high chairs for children. Half board can be booked. A generous breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. Lunch is served as à la carte, and guests can choose between a buffet, à la carte and a set menu for dinner. Diet meals, gluten-free meals and vegetarian dishes can be prepared on request. The apartment hotel also offers special catering options.

    Another amazing stay at Eden Mar. Such wonderful service from everyone (reception, restaurant and breakfast room staff, housekeeping and bar staff). The meals we had (Portuguese night, Mediterranean night and International) were all outstanding allowing us to try different things and the breakfasts were amazing. The pools were a little cool in May but you soon acclimatise. We had a small issue with a mattress but reception sorted this with housekeeping within a couple of hours and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you all so much once again.

    As always, our stay at The Eden Mar Suites was brilliant, the staff, food, service, location and facilities cannot be faulted which is why we keep coming back! We would recommend a stay here to anyone who likes a restful, peaceful and cared for break with excellent food and facilities.

    Amazing Hotel Well Located

    We booked a one week stay on the island for our 1st visit to the island and couldn’t have chosen a better hotel. Due to the islands airport being closed for a few days prior to our arrival we were only able to stay for 5 nights out of the 7 that we had booked via our tour operator. We didn’t get off to a very good start with the holiday with a 48-hour delay departing from our UK airport due to the airport on Madeira being closed due to weather conditions. When we arrived at the hotel to check-in the hotel said they had no record of the booking but on them investigating they discovered that the holiday company had cancelled our booking for some unknow reason. The reception at the hotel excelled themselves to help us have our cancelled room booking reinstated. Once we were checked in the hotel was amazing with wonderful, fantastic meals in the hotel restaurant. The hotel is so big the reception gave us a map of the hotel showing the locations of the various restaurant’s cafes, bars etc. If we decide to visit the island again in the future, we’d certainly look at staying at this hotel again.

    Had a wonderful and restful stay.Hotel has a lot to offer. Service is second to none and very clean grounds were beautiful and very well kept. Ideally situated lots of bars and restaurants nearby.
