Location

The hotel is situated on the island of Porto Santo, around 4 km from the centre of the village. Places of interest include Colombo's House, Pico do Castelo and Miradouro das Flores.

Facility

Guests have a choice of 32 junior suites and 224 double rooms located in an 8-storey main building and 3 auxiliary buildings. Guests are warmly welcomed by multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the 24-hour reception desk in the lobby. Check-in/check-out service is available round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a cash machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The resort has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. A lift and wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are a number of shops, including a supermarket and souvenir shop. The grounds of the complex feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a newspaper stand, a TV room, a playroom and a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Other services include a 24-hour security service, a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service (for a fee), a laundry service, a hairdresser, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. A bicycle hire service provides all the necessary equipment for exploring the surrounding area. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a fax machine.

Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can relax and enjoy the sea views from the balcony or private terrace of some rooms. The rooms have a double bed and a sofa bed. Separate bedrooms are available. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. The kitchenette comes with a refrigerator and a mini fridge. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a stereo system and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower, a bathtub and a bidet. For additional convenience, bathrooms also provide a hairdryer. Wheelchair-friendly rooms can be booked. The resort has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

Sport

Heated indoor and outdoor pools, filled with salt water, ensure comfortable swimming. There is a children's swimming area as well. Guests can treat themselves to refreshing drinks at the poolside snack bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub. Parasols and comfortable sun loungers are available on the sun terrace. A variety of activities are available at the resort, for example tennis, bocce, beach volleyball, volleyball, paddle tennis, archery, fishing and horse riding or, for a fee, cycling/mountain biking and golf. A wide range of sports are available, including water sports such as windsurfing, banana boat rides and snorkelling or, for a fee, diving. The resort offers numerous indoor sports, including a gym, table tennis, badminton, darts, squash, callisthenics and aerobics or, for a fee, billiards. There is a wellness area with a spa, a hammam, a beauty salon, spa treatments, hydrotherapy treatments, thalassotherapy treatments, anti-ageing treatments and a solarium and, for an additional fee, a sauna, a steam bath and massage treatments. Guests of all ages have the opportunity to enjoy a fun entertainment programme.

Meals

Dining facilities include a café and a bar. The non-smoking restaurant provides high chairs for children. Catering options include bed and breakfast, half board, full board and all-inclusive. For breakfast, lunch and dinner, guests serve themseves at the buffet or choose their preferred fare from the menu (for lunch). Diet meals and children's meals can be prepared on request. In addition, special catering options and snacks are available. The resort offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

    Avoid avoid avoid!!!!!!!!

    Arrived at 8pm.... told i can't have a table because we didn't arrive before 6pm when you have to book a table by without exception... I was with my friend and his 10yr old daughter and was told to go to the next hotel where we found the que was longer than an ice age ... THE RESTAURANT WAS EMPTY Where we were at 8:15!!!! AND NO ROOM SERVICE!!!! and told we still couldn't eat.... I have travelled far and wide avoid avoid avoid!!!! If I could give 0 stars I would have.... discussed by the front desk too... she was exceptionally rude and abrupt and we had to take our own baggage up to the rooms... spoke to the F&B MANAGER who proceeded to refuse us service TOO..... I've worked in hospitality for 30 years AT THE HIGEST LEVEL IN CENTRAL LONDON and have never been so appalled at the lack of competence and ability to do ones job...... to top it off the rooms weren't ready and I had to make the spare bed myself for my friend 10 year old daughter .... the place is stuck in the 1970s with no work ethics at.... I would rather sleep on the beach and eat McDonald's.......... avoid at all costs..... funchal is just as close with far nicer people who know how to do their job!!!!!!!!

    I have booked accommodation in this hotel for four days for my son and me. My son fell ill. The hotel informed me that they could not refund any money, even though I traveled alone. So far, so good, but the reception staff also immediately took away the second pool towel from me since my son was not there. It didn’t matter that I had paid for the second towel. Though this wasn't the worst part, for a hotel of this price category to serve white wine in cardboard boxes is unacceptable. Serving white wine in paper cups to guests who pay a lot of money for a gin and tonic at the bar, and when they want to take it up to their room, they are given it in paper cups with no glasses offered, is simply not acceptable. Moreover, a hotel of this category shouldn't have coffee machines at the breakfast buffet that show actual coffee beans but only serve instant coffee. This hotel follows the concept of maximizing profit with the least effort, and that is very, very disappointing. I am immensely disappointed and certainly will not return.

    We went over Christmas and new year and absolutely loved it, Home from home. Kids had their own beds, daily visits from the local cat community. Lovely island tbh, Everything was perfect. Nice and clean, clean betting, comfy beds, nice outside area, (BBQ could do with a rebuild) but i couldn't ask for more.

    We visited the hotel in December 2023 (not in January 2024) and a good experience. The hotel had some maintenance with the gym, and we had to find a solution together with the hotel to use another gym. Had to travel with the hotel taxi but it was difficult as we were tied to times. Else the hotel was informed that we were vegetarians and made new dish almost every day both for lunch and dinner (ensuring we got vegetarian protein). For the experience with restaurant hotel we would give 5+! Just excellent the way they took care of us. Hotel had a beach not far away, inside swimming pool and a hotel bus. The cleaning and ppl working there in restaurants as well are polite and nice. Loved this place

    High marks for helpful, pleasant and attentive staff! They do a very good job looking after guests. Pool was maintained and grounds were clean, although the chaise loungers are in desperate need of replacing. Some of the things that lowered my rating were: very thin towels that might once have been white; not a speck of interior room decor - just clean beds, sink, shower with decent hot water and a balcony. Rooms spartan - no art of any kind on the walls or hallways. Would be nice to have a box of tissues, a kettle and magnifying mirror in bathroom? Perhaps some larger or thicker bath mats (bathroom tile floor dangerously slippery when wet). Overall a fabulous location with the beautiful beach a 3-min walk away. If you go expecting a spartan and slightly tired facility with decent food and good staff, you’ll enjoy your time in Porto Santo.
