    DIRTY! ripped towels in very bad condition, with stains and hair; used cups with toothpaste from previous guests; shower didn’t work, wasn’t clean, and there was no hot water. There was no staff to support or replace any of these items in the evening. Furthermore pool was off (although its promoted online), and inhouse noise was heardfrom 8am, so it was hard to sleep too..     Great base for our biking holiday.I stayed here with 3 friends and we all said we would return.The staff are very helpful and the accommodation was very clean.Every room had air conditioning (which is unusual).The food was fantastic.We had wild boar and the steak was massive.Thanks for a great stay !     Lovely place to stay.

    We stayed in one of the houses in the village. The property was lovely, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Our bedroom was large and comfortable and the common area of the house was beautifully decorated. Our breakfast was delivered to the house , complete with coffee pods for the coffee machine and warm milk. The reception staff spoke English.     Miguel Torga, a proeminent portuguese poet/writer, talked about his beloved Trás-os-Montes in “Um Reino Maravilhoso” (“A Marvellous Kingdom”).The Northeast of Portugal is indeed marvellous, especially due to the unique magic and energy it has… The kind and generous people, the neverending beauty and peace of the landscapes, all the amazing things you can feel and taste sitting on a table to eat and drink, …Try all this at Bragança!And get well rested in this place, at Gimonde: it’s the perfect place to do it with so many astonishing things to experience!     Delightful location, business needs improvement

    This business won many awards in the past, there are certificates to prove this, but it seems time has long since passed and the glory days are over. We arrived, took suitcases from the car (plus dog) only to be told that the accommodation was actually 1km or so away from reception and we had to follow a receptionist in the car. The accommodation itself was lovely, not a hotel but an en-suite room in a house, the house was shared with another couple. Delightful location but the facilities were not as advertised - not one restaurant on site (there were supposed to be two), the pool was open but we did not use it as we were there just for one night en-route to Alentejo.We eventually ate at the restaurant by reception (there is no other choice locally), the food was rustic but seems to have lost its charm, my meal was not to my taste at all but it was exchanged, without cost, for something else. The surroundings are lovely and peaceful and I really do hope the management take back control and make this place great again just as it appeared to be in the past. Finally, breakfast was included in our price, so we gave it a try. We do not usually eat in a hotel at breakfast time, preferring to eat along our journey, but we had an early start and decided to go as soon as they opened just after 08.00h - there was no sign of breakfast and the doors were locked. Eventually, someone appeared and opened up and brought out bread, ham, cheese, juice. coffee etc. but by then it was 08.45 before we could begin to eat. This is not excellent service, we were extremely disappointed and, again, hope these issues can be reviewed and corrected by the management team because we felt it such a shame that such a delightful place is now so badly managed.
