Location

    simple check in from a member of staff who was super friendly and chatty,lifts to all floors.my room (705)has some old fashioned furniture and was clean and tidy with a double bed,good storage,air con,mini fridge,safety deposit box and coffee facilities,pleasant bathroom with shower,add on a good sized balcony with fine views of the centre and i was well happy with my short stay.

    There was too cold im my own house in december so we checked in to AS hotel only for a week or so, we ended up staying 23 days the place is great,the staff was fantastic.Mariana, manager: Front desk Adriana,Claudia,Catarina,Daniel,Rui,Victor:_ Marcio the maintainer and jaeza we got to be like family the place is quiet and,clean the location is great and so is the view from breakfast room

    Due to the fire inferno in our region, we had to go to a hotel to be able to have a night of sleep and a shower, this because we had no hot water or electricity in our house. So we came out on the AS – Hotel in “São João da Madeira”.The hotel is located in the middle of the city, and as we took a reservation on the same day, we got it for the fantastic price of 36 €, in this price as included the breakfast buffet, the double room, and free parking into the underground garage of the hotel.The room was not luxury, but it had everything, two single beds, a very nice complete and clean bathroom and hygiene products. The only negative point we can say it that there is no small table or desk, and no chair to have a seat, for the rest we do not have any complaints.The breakfast buffet was simple but had everything you could have for that price, so we had a good night and a safe place for the car.

    This small hotel is on a vast plaza which is a concrete sphere with two Café bars on it, otherwise it's like a large pedestrian roundabout leading to five streets into the commercial district and not very attractive but functional.The hotel is in an ideal location close to some high end shops, famous Hat and Shoe Museum which I thoroughly recommend. There's an Art Museum nearby which had an exhibition on of Brut Art. The only disappointment was that the town is completely modern and no old buildings. There is a pretty plaza with a church and bar nearby in a small garden.My long shaped room had a twin room with an adjoining room with a third bed and an adequate bathroom, all spotlessly clean. There is no restaurant but for my half board, I got a card to take to a very nice restaurant nearby called Ponto Zero, where I had a nice meal on two nights. Breakfast was in a canteen style room with the usual fare of cold meats and cheese, breads, cakes and cereals.

    Quiet, clean and cheap hotel on Camino Portuguese in Sao Joao da Madeira, Portugal

    Nothing fancy about this place but everything was clean and worked. We partnered up and grabbed a double room. It even had a large deck opposite the main square. Our clothes hung outside and dried fast with the wind.The wifi worked in the room. It was great at night but spotty in the morning. Breakfast was tasty.I'd come back to this place!
