  Highly recommend - just a few niggles

  The location for this place was excellent, the lovely host was there when she said and very friendly. Communication before arrival was excellent. We had booked the loft which was on the top floor. A little bit painful at times when we forgot the low ceiling beams but we managed to avoid them by the 2nd day. The shower was a bit tight for space and the doors didn’t shut that well, but we coped for the 2 days. Loved the ceiling fan instead of air con! Kept us cool. Good to have a washing machine and a drying rack. Bed was slightly too hard but not a fault if you like your bed like that. The only negative for us was the numerous flights of stairs - it was hell climbing up every single time! We are in our 60s so this will not be an issue with young guests.

  BO - Bolhao is a really wonderful apartment block, virtually in the heart of Porto,However what makes it even better is that the manager Alex, was absolutely amazing.Nothing was too much trouble, and he went well above and beyond anything I could expect, to help us, give advice and basically anything else we needed.The rooms are big and spacious. As you walk in the bathroom is on your left which has a spacious shower, a basin and loo.There is a well set up kitchen with a hob and oven, a bar fridge a microwave, clothes washing machine, and the usual kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery etc.You walk into the lounge area which has a large couch, coffee table and shelving with TV on the wall.There is also an air-conditioner, which as the temperature was about 40c / 104f was definitely needed.The bedroom had a great comfortable double bed and there was more than sufficient cupboard space. The only thing that really needs to be looked at is the stairs.They are wooden and look magnificent, however the 'ends' of the stairs are light and at times you really cannot see where one step ends and the next one starts. It really is an accident waiting to happen, especially if someone has a slight problem.Please can this be sorted.

  I would have liked an elevator but being on the first floor was do-able. The apartment was really nice and having air con was a huge asset. The staff were helpful and friendly. It was a bit noisy outside for my taste but it's very centrally located and so I would use it again.

  Absolutely Shocking!

  Following the Death of our son we wanted to get away and have some much needed time together following 5 months in intensive care with our boy, what was not told to us major Construction work are just outside the building which makes relaxation impossible as the noise is incredible! Sometimes it would last till past 11 at night! Wish we hadn't gone and was told we would get a refund which was a lie as we still have not recieved! You have been warned, attached are photos from apartment window the works are long term. And we left devestated.

  I'm writing this review while we are still here. Joanna is an amazing host and gave us lots if brilliant recommendations of places to go. The food choices so far have been spot on. Our apartment is on the 3rd floor overlooking the market and its stunning. We have not been bothered by the building works as we are up out early exploring Porto. Location is brilliant and we would definitely return here. It's been a perfect stay so far and highly reccomend it.
