    Avoid. Room swapped without consent, refund withheld, and communication cut off.

    I booked a room with two single beds more than half a year in advance. Months later - and shortly before our scheduled stay - the hotel emailed to inform us they had 'upgraded' our room to a single double bed. As I was travelling with someone I could not share a bed with, this room did not meet our basic requirements. We were forced to cancel and find alternative accommodation.Management agreed in writing to a full refund on May 1st. However, their finance department failed to process the international transfer and never proactively notified me of the issue. I only discovered the failure weeks later by actively chasing them for updates.When I pointed out the error and requested a standard credit card reversal - a routine practice globally - the hotel went completely silent and failed to reply.I have been chasing my money for over a month with zero resolution. Terrible communication, an unreliable finance department, and a complete lack of professional accountability. Avoid booking here if you expect them to honour your room configurations or handle your money honestly.

    Great hotel spa in a perfect location

    Stayed here for some day trips into the surrounding area. Hotel is just off the main road but does not suffer from any noticeable road noise.The rooms are nice and have everything you need - including a very powerful shower! The breakfast was great and was the best we had all trip with plenty of selection! The hotel has a really nice outdoor pool, set down out of the wind (was too cold to use in early May). It also has an indoor spa area, which you need to book but is free for guests (pool, sauna etc). The pool is small but nice and warm after a busy day!The town centre is about 20/30 minute walk from the hotel or you can drive in a few minutes! Very friendly staff and helpful with all our questions

    Looks good but has issues

    We stayed 2 nights in a large room in the attic of the old building. The room looked lovely and had an amazing amount of storage and light but there were lots of little problems. The bathroom door would not close, the rain head shower sprayed water in all directions and the bathroom was very dark. This building had the world’s slowest lift. The breakfast was okay but the hot food was cold. The location was not ideal as it was quite a walk to the Old Town.     Excellent new guest house.

    The comfort and feel of a bed and breakfast with all the amenities of a hotel. The staff were great with recommendations and were very friendly. Would absolutely stay here again. The place can be a little tough to find but is worth the effort.
