  We enjoyed a fabulous stay at this modern boutique hotel which is close to the centre yet in a quiet location. The staff spoke good English, were polite, helpful and provided 2 excellent recommendations of traditional cafes in Braga. Our room upgraded from the standard had a balcony overlooking the quiet street. It was spacious, spotless, warm and had a comfortable bed. The bathroom was also spacious with plenty of hot water. We enjoyed a very tasty meal on our first evening in the hotel restaurant. Breakfast was of a similar high standard with its mix of Continental and English items. Overall a most enjoyable stay.   This hotel grew on us - give it chance to win you over

  Upon arrival at the hotel we weren't initially enamoured and felt that the hotel wasn't quite a four star. We had just stayed at the four star in Porto that was a lot better. However, the staff helped us grow to enjoy our two night stay there. Unlike the Porto hotel, our room had no free bottled water provided, there were tea and coffee making facilities - we had to ask for a jug of milk which we kept in the fridge. The clothes storage was very lacking - no drawers for underwear and the hanging space was insufficient for anything long. There were no sockets near the bed apart from what the lamp was in - which meant the phones had to plugged in at far end of the bedroom. We use them for morning alarm. I tried to use socket in the cupboard but you'll see the usb cords meant we couldn't plug them in. We had read we had to choice breakfast in advance - trouble is we has to order for two people on one sheet. How did they know what was wanted when by whom. Everything pretty much came out at once - I wanted my fruit and yogurt first - then my hot food. It was a bit messy for me. Nice idea but needed to be better co-ordinated. There was too much oil on the mushrooms, tomatoes and courgettes. The following morning this was reduced as requested. The breakfast staff are very professional and friendly along with the reception staff who were very helpful.
