    Great location for Porto

    rating02 Jun 2026

The hotel has a great location, easy to get to from the airport with a good selection of restaurants, small super markets and historical buildings to visit nearby and close to the river. Our room was pleasant, quiet, the bathroom was modern and clean, there was a safe and wardrobe with hanging space. Also tea and coffee making in the room but no complimentary water - for a 4* hotel this should be offered as standard. There was a good selection of most European breakfast items, something for most folk - not the best (or the worse breakfast spread). Whilst they didn't advertise cooking eggs to order, I did ask during our stay for an omelette and this was cooked for me. There is a very small gym. The reception area was very pleasant and modern - the staff were always very helpful and polite. There is a charge for left luggage - something which is a new idea for us and again not what you would expect from a 4* hotel.

    Convenient but noisy!

    rating29 May 2026

Extremely noisy room, it was like the window was open, revving motorbikes in early hours of the morning, car horns blowing constant noise, bin lorries at 2 and 4 am, it’s like being in Ibiza! Convenient- yes but restaurants overpriced and not that good! Better to eat further from river! Hotel NOT 4 star, dated, grubby unfriendly staff, breakfast just ok!

    Not 4 stars..

    rating06 Apr 2026

What a gorgeous location! Its right in the heart of Ribeira, close to all the waterfront restaurants, and boat tours. Its lively, and easily walkable. Very easy to get to from the airport and very easy to grab a taxi or uber from this location. Front staff, could be more accommodating and courteous. Their service lacked attention. For a 4 star standard, I felt this hotel fell short. It is not a 4 star. The rooms are very dated. Ours had a beautiful view, however, the rooms are tired. The switches and outlets need updating. Bathrooms are tired. Cleanliness can be upped a notch. We found hair in the sink and bathtub. There's no iron in the room iron. They charge a luggage hold fee. Overall, because of the poor service from staff, and the dated rooms.. there are better options in that same price range.

Uncommunicated room downgrade, poor service, and lack of accountability or compensation

    rating28 Mar 2026

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this hotel and would not stay here again! On the day of my arrival, I received an email informing me that the room I had booked — a Deluxe Suite with river view — was currently unavailable for the dates of my stay without any further explanation. Instead, I was moved to a Duplex Suite with river view. While this may sound like an upgrade, it was actually a cheaper room than the one I had paid for.For 4 nights (half of my trip) I was kept in this different room with no clear communication on when I would be moved to the room I originally booked. The reception staff were unhelpful and vague, providing no real updates. It’s hard to believe that not one Deluxe Suite became available during that time — it felt more like it was simply more convenient for the hotel to keep me where I was. What made this worse was the complete lack of accountability. There was no proper apology from management and absolutely no financial compensation offered, despite the fact that I did not receive what I had paid for. That is simply unacceptable.Another issue occurred when I had arranged a breakfast to be packed for an early morning departure. When I went to collect it, there was nothing prepared. The receptionist on duty was rude and dismissive, insisting there was no record of my request and offering no solution, apology, or effort to help.Throughout my stay, I felt more like I was inconveniencing the staff rather than being a paying guest. A last-minute room change can happen, but how it is handled makes all the difference. In this case, it was handled poorly — no communication, no apology, and no attempt to make things right for the guest. You should get what you pay for, and if that’s not possible, there should be some form of compensation offered. Unfortunately, this hotel did neither.
