  A Beautiful Venue

  I host yoga retreats in European destinations. The Casa da Lage is a beautiful luxury retreat in Ponte de Lima, Portugal. The owner of the villa is gracious and always available if needed. 2019 was my second retreat in this venue and I have booked another week for September 2020.

  Wonderful Family Reunion

  Our family of 17 people is spread over 2 different countries and 3 different cities. We have Portuguese/Italian/Spanish background. In the past, we had a reunion in Italy. This time we chose Portugal to get together, and in Portugal, after an extensive research, we chose Casa da Lage.Our family’s ages range from 10 to 75 tears old, with all ages in between and everyone loved Casa da Lage and felt extremely comfortable while there. We had the whole property for our use during 10 days. The home’s 10 bedrooms, living rooms, beautiful gardens and tennis court served us very well. The whole place is very well kept - both indoors and outdoors. The only place that doesn’t match the house is its kitchen - which is extremely small. In our case, we hardly cooked because we used the days to visit cities close to Ponte de Lima, where we had our big meal of the day and in the evenings we stayed in the house and had light stuff and wonderful wine of the area.The housekeeping was done every three days and the ‘crew’ was extremely nice and helpful, specially Claudia, who was our contact.We had a chance to meet the owners of Casa da Lage who are very nice people and told us the history of the property.The area around Casa da Lage is just beautiful and cities like O Porto, Guimarães and Braga are a short distance. Spain is also close and the roads are all very good.We had one breakfast prepared for us and it was wonderful - quality food, very well served.All in all, it was an event to remember and a great house to make beautiful memories.

  Amazing place

  This is an excellent place to stay. It is very quiet and secluded well worth the effort of finding but only about 10 mins from Ponte de Lima. We had a mix up with booking but the owner and his wife very kindly made up rooms for us specially which was beyond the call of duty and very much appreciated. The rooms in the palatial guesthouse were excellent, spacious and well equipped. The swimming pool was also excellent as was the large patio area to sit and enjoy the extensive gardens and views over the countryside. Breakfast was excellent. The overall package could not be beaten. Highly recommended thanks to all at Casa da Lage

  beautiful period residence

  Lost in the quiet countryside is this magnificient period residence which must be steeped in history.The room was of the highest quality,food at breakfast was tasteful and substancial.The grounds were beautifully laid out,swimming pool and reclining area great(beware of swarming bees in the parisol).What would have been interesting might be a conversation with the hosts about the history of this beautiful house.
