    Charming Accomodation

    rating17 Sept 2022

The property is very much within the city but feels like you are in the country once you pass through the gates. The breakfast is well done. The accommodations are clean and cozy. One tip, most taxi drivers are unfamiliar with the location. When calling a taxi we would advise across the street from the Pingo Market. Walking into the Historic Center only takes 20 min. to walk to, however.

Beautiful garden and house and very helpful staff. Excellent breakfast! Would come back anytime!Traditional and authentic manor house with extensive gardens including a small pool, lemon and orange groves. Our room allowed selfcatering, supermarket across the road.

    nice and clean

    rating30 Sept 2018

We stayed two nights. Were warmly welcomed by the kind Eduarda who gave all necessary information about the place and the town which is at a reasonable walking distance from the hotel. We had a small apartment in the garden, bedroom, sitting room, small kitchen and bathroom. Everything was clean and tastefully decorated. There is a small terrace with table and chairs. For future visitors it should be nice if those chairs could be repaired! They lacked their back !!! There is a swimming pool, small but sufficient for a swim after a hot day. The breakfast is nice. Parking available and sufficient. We could park in front of our place which is fine for moving the luggage. All in all a nice place that can be warmly recommended.

    Charming, historic family hotel

    rating26 Aug 2017

Casa do Ameal is the real deal. It's pleasantly authentic. The property has been family owned since the 1600's. The spaces are simple, clean and rustic (we had the two bedroom suites with a small kitchen, dining and living area). The breakfast was great and slightly different every day (loved their espresso machine). The pool is perfect for an afternoon cool down. Really enjoyed Isabel and Ana who were the family members looking after guests while we were there. It's an easy 20 minute walk to town from Casa do Ameal.

Amazing stay! Great house close to Viana do Castelo with a lot of history and a charming family. Clearly "the" place to stay in Vianca do Castelo! Very nice rooms and pool, the old house where the familly stays is spectacular! Look forward to come again!
