We loved staying at Hotel Fundador at Guimaraes Room & bathroom very clean & spacious Bed very comfortable too Just one important fact The hotel does not offer an electric kettle in the room.though I was lent one, and two mugs against a deposit of €20The staff are all very welcoming and friendlyBreakfast was not as good as I imagined Scrambled eggs were dry & cold and they offered cocktail.sausages The yolk of the hard boiled eggs was blackish I didn't eat it I ordered a glass of fresh orange juice at €2 as the orange juice provided was out of a packet Taxi to old town is approx €8 each way Hotel receptionist booked it for us

A great time in Guimaraes

I had a enjoyable time staying at Hotel Fundador on my first visit to Guimaraes. On my last day, the hotel welcome in, what looked like two full football teams (average age 14), and which sounded like a stadium of fans. Nonetheless, my room was quiet and comfortable. The room was spacious with good A/C. Good shower / bathroom facilities. The location is great if you are coming in by train. It is close to lots of great restaurants, both home-cooking and wine/snack bars. Located on the top of a hill, you get a great view as you descend into the downtown area. Guimaraes is really beautiful place, and I look forward to returning there again soon.

Excellent value. Good hotel close to the city center. Staff is very accommodating . Although an older building the rooms are very nice, decent sized. breakfast was limited but filling. Enough options to get your day started. Great views from the breakfast room. I would stay again in a nanosecond. :-)

The hotel is really clean. Rooms are very big and it is also great location near the city centre and shopping mall. There is also grocery near. Only minus is very small breakfast. The hotel has modern rooms. Overall it is really worth the price. I recommend.

We arrived by train and it was a short 1 block to the hotel. The hotel is a bit older but well maintained with extremely friendly staff. I didn't have a power converted for our cell phones and Filipe loa
