    Not great

    rating19 May 2026

AC did not work 3 of 4 days No tv 2 of 4 days. Charged for breakfast I did not ask or use for 4 days. Very disappointing and very non pleasant stay. Street doesn’t allow Ubers or taxis difficult to get where I needed to go as only a pedestrian start!

    Perfect

    rating14 May 2026

What a delightful hotel! I had a wonderful stay and would love to go back. The decor is stylish and welcoming, there are plenty of little nooks if you want to relax with a book. My room was lovely, tastefully decorated with a garden view so it was very quiet despite the bustling location. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent: powerful, hot and spacious. There was plenty of choice for breakfast; a good selection of pastries, an excellent selection of fresh fruit (including pineapple, mango, papaya, kiwi etc) to have with yogurt, nuts and dried fruit, the selection of cooked food was also good. There is a choice of fruit juice, milk includes dairy free options, there is also sparkling wine. A few people have criticised the choice, I can only think they are rating the wrong hotel! The location is brilliant too, lots of excellent options for food, it’s near to some of the main attractions, only 10 mins walk to the train station and similar to Bolhao market which is heaven for foodies. The Time Out market by the station is also worth a visit for a meal.

    7 nights B&B

    rating27 Apr 2026

I stayed in single room (very spacious) no. 416 & secured a very good deal for B&B via Booking.com. I requested & was allocated a top floor room, but unfortunately this overlooked a pedestrianised street which was particularly noisy on Fri. & Sat. nights. The hotel is located c.5 mins. walk from São Bento railway station, but be aware that disruptive construction works are underway in this area in connection with extension of the city’s metro, expected to continue into 2027. Breakfast is taken in the large, attractive dining room. There’s also the option to eat al fresco. Good selection of food & drink on offer, with vg OJ, fresh fruit & delicious yoghurt. However, I found the ”hot" (barely warm) food selection poor, particularly the very dry scrambled eggs. The slices of bread on offer were like doorsteps! And this was the first time I’ve ever encountered preserves which have to be dispensed from large tubes! For me by far the worst thing about this hotel was the bedroom door slamming (akin to gun shots, resonating in the wood-floored corridors), some of the worst I’ve ever encountered during my many years of travels. I appreciate much of the disturbance was as a result of fellow guests’ inconsiderate behaviours, but I feel that hotels have a duty to install door closure dampening mechanisms. Management / staff should also encourage people to show respect for their fellow guests.

Nice stay but cleaning let them down

    rating25 Apr 2026

Stayed here for 4nights with family. Rooms were ok but could do with some upkeep. Paint coming from parts of the wall. Our shower overflowed. I informed reception but they did not have maintenance see to this as the problem persisted throughout our stay.Housekeeping was very poor at times. They did not clean our shower or around the hand basin. They also did not make one of the beds on one of the nights.Breakfast was good with a nice selection, all that you need to keep you going through the day, staff were pleasant and the location it good.

    Charming hotel

    rating06 Jan 2026

The best location for visiting Porto Lovely hotel and rooms are big and clean. The tv had some english movie channels which was great. The staff are very friendly. I went on bed & breakfast basic but if I return i would go room only. The breakfast fruit selection, pastries etc were excellent but i didnt like the eggs or other things on offer. The coffee was great. In saying that i would totally return and would recomnend this gorgeous hotel to friends and family. Great value, so close to metro, so close to shops, bars & restaurants. Really charming
