Bed bug infestation

What was meant to be an amazing 2 day stay in Porto for me and my children turned into a nightmare. Resulting in myself having to drive back down to central Portugal with my children. IF YOU EVER GET PLACED IN ROOM 332 DO NOT ACCEPT IT. The first night I spent there I was bitten more than 20 times by bed bugs, the hotel Manager Lia Alvez was more than happy to talk to me and share images of the huge infestation under the bed. This was until I asked for a refund. The manager instantly blamed me bringing the bed bugs on my suitcase from the airport, this was all without her knowing that I was already in Portugal 8 days prior from me checking in to this hotel. She treated me and my children on such an inhumane way. She insisted that if I wanted a refund I had to immediately pack my things and leave the hotel. As she had already made me feel scared and uncomfortable I decided to pack my things. Not only was I treated horribly infront of my children, she only refunded me one night because ‘I slept and ate there’. Stay away from this hotel, the staff are poorly trained and they do not care about the well being of us paying customers.

Very nice and clean hotel. Right next door was a super market. You could walk to the beach in a mile and half. It was an easy walk. The breakfast was very good. The only down side was it was outside of Porto center so you had to Uber there. No walking into town.

Booked a Standard double room last minute due to a flight cancellation. Arrived 30 minutes later (aroung 11.30pm). Daniel on reception checked us in and gave us teabags and milk to take up to the room as well as booking a taxi to the airport the following morning. Room was clean, well furnished and nice bright decor. Had time for breakfast the next day before the re-arranged flight. Was ample selection although the only hot food seemed to be scrambled eggs - no bacon, sausage etcGreat value for money

My and some friends visited this Holiday Inn for a Long weekend so I could use it as a base to explore Porto, Matosinhos, Foz, Vila Nova de Gaia and many other places around the area. Straight from check in ‘Carlos’ put a tremendous effort in o make us feel welcome, he was a credit to IHG. The hotel is a bit isolated but it has an excellent connections so you can really explore the whole local area. The hotel is clean, modern, air conditioned and has a very adequate complimentary breakfast offering. It’s everything you would expect of a Holiday Inn Express.

Far from everything, uncomfortable beds and pillows and nothing around worth seeing. NoMini fridge,No snacks or bar even on a friday night. It only works if you have a rental toMove around.
