Wonderful stay at Vila Pouca de Aguiar in this nice hotel with a cosy atmosphere, very nice and efficient staff. The swimming pool is a positive point and really made our stay quite agreeable.

    Family short break

    rating06 Aug 2025

Our family of 4 had a wonderful 3 night stay at this hotel. The beds were comfy, the room was air conditioned, and the pool area was perfect. There is a nice restaurant in the hotel for lunch and dinner and the bar is open all day for refreshments.

A lovely little hotel in a lovely little town

    rating29 Oct 2024

I thoroughly enjoyed my fleeting 24-hour stay at this lovely little family-owned hotel. Before I arrived, I must have driven them absolutely crazy with my constant date changes, but they were so patient and kind. And when I did arrive, I was stupidly early, but they gave me an early check-in – of course they did! The room was spotlessly clean with a balcony with wonderful views over this special little town. Sitting there at night looking at the lights from far and wide was such a pleasure. The pool was delightful and a suntrap, with ample sunbeds when I was there. Vila Pouca de Aguiar was bustling and fun during the day, but very quiet at night in early September. I loved it, though.I had a mid-afternoon bus and requested a late check-out which – of course – was readily granted. I was allowed to stay until 3pm, which was incredibly generous. Surely the best place to stay in town.

    More than I expected

    rating25 Aug 2017

My husband and I travelled to the area because I have family in a small village nearby. I'm pregnant and don't sleep very comfortable so we decided to stay in a hotel instead of with family on an air mattress. We have travelled all over Europe and noticed that even a 4 star hotel looks and feels more like a 2 star hotel with the cramped rooms and smaller than usual "double" beds. This was the best rated hotel in town so we went this route and we were so pleasantly surprised. Our room was 2 twins, actual twin sized not slivers or cot sized beds like I've experienced before but they were put together and felt like a king sized bed which is what we're used to. The room was a very decent size, had a balcony with a pretty view of the town and mountains and a very nice pool. When the shades are down, you don't even know if it's still night time when you get up- pitch blackness and silence. The shower looked new and had multiple settings but the most impressive thing was how impeccably clean the hotel and room is. Not even a scuff on a wall. We joked that someone must paint after each guest. Even throughout our stay instead of just the usual made bed I feel like housekeeping cleaned the entire room and bathroom every day for us. I was wowed. It was a great stay and would recommend for sure! We also ate at the restaurant attached and that was also very good. A plus!!

Nice hotel if you really have to stay in this town

    rating26 Mar 2016

This is a three stars hotel which doesn’t have anything special to point out neither any very negative aspect to underline; probably the best thing is the cleanness. In fact this is a town without any big attraction where you stay only if it is necessary or if you feel tired at the end of the day.
