    Lovely staff - shame about the lack of coffee

    It was lovely to arrive at this city centre hotel and our luggage was already in our room. The room was clean, spacious, with comfy beds, but with no air con, it was a little stuffy (wouldn't want to stay there in the height of summer). Breakfast was a big 'let down'. We are doing the Caminho Way, as were most of the guests, so we all arrived for breakfast in a very small room, very cramped, and the coffee machine was not working. Eventually, a replacement machine arrived. Can you imagine the queue??? No eggs or bacon, a lot of bread and cake, which is not adequate to set us up walking all day. Dx Hotel A, at Hotel Avenida, responded to this review Thank you for your kind words about our staff and room. We sincerely apologize for the breakfast issues – the broken coffee machine was not up to the standard our guests deserve. We're working to improve this. Buen Camino!

    Really lovely hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable and spotless. The hotel is central to everything, 2 mins walk from beach and restaurants and shops. Highly recommend staying here. Nice breakfast with good choice. (No A/C).

    Stayed one night on our Camino. Difficult to find and not all that hospitable. Formica everywhere. Rooms a bit small with no view. Good restaurants around about. Breakfast was basic but adequate. To be honest I would not want to stay more than one night.

    The hotel is very well located, close to the beach, restaurants, and other shops.Very friendly and helpful staff!The rooms are really small, but clean and beds are comfortable.Very nice breakfast buffet and service.

    An ideal place to stay if walking on the Camino Portugués coastal route. The hotel is central, close to the beach and seafront with restaurants and cafés close by. Helpful staff and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was excellent.
