This pleasant hotel lies adjacent to the Santuário do Bom Jesus just a few paces from the tourist centre of Braga. The city centre is just a short distance away and offers many shopping and entertainment venues, boutiques, cafés, bars and restaurants. The airport is about 50 km away, links to the public transport network are merely 1 km away and it is 30 km to the nearest beach.

Facility

44 rooms, including 22 double rooms, are located on 2 storeys and can be reached by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are happy to answer any questions. A baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service are available. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops as well. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park.     Awful stay!

    I grew up in Braga and Hotel do Elevador, in the beautiful Bom Jesus do Monte, was a real iconic hotel, back in the 60's and early 70's, either to stay or for a dinner in the beautiful covered veranda. After I moved abroad I tried to stay there, during a visit to family, to no avail. When I arrived I was told that they had a wedding in the garden and it would therefore be too noisy (they never bothered to inform me about that fact, even if I booked short before arrival!). I was then told to stay one of their other hotels nearby, Hotel do Templo, but the room was very gloomy and my whole experience was ruined! When I decided to visit Braga once again I thought that giving it another try, for old times' sake, would be a good idea. Wrong........ The hotel is rather rundown nowadays and I ended up staying in four rooms, during my 3 day stay, two in Hotel do Elevador and two again in Hotel do Templo. The receptionists did they best to try to solve the problems, the management did very little. Dinner was not that good either! This is an experience I will never repeat ever again!

    The Hotel is need of some modernisation in the rooms BUT it was clean and functional. The staff were all extremely friendly and the evening meal fabulous. The breakfast choice was limited but perfectly fine and all fresh. A great location and would certainly staff again in the future. In addition - one of the young men behind reception lent me his i-phone charger which saved the day for me!!!!

    Very bad experience with the Rooms are under the restaurant, so many time noisy from people walk , run and drag the table on the wood floor at all the time.Can not sleep but expensive paidWe are 3 of us drive far from algarve to Braga that we need to sleep. Since we check in till Midnight they still noisy Bang Bang Bang !! Crashhh!!! On the floor.No more next timeTerrible Reception can not solve any problemsJust say sorry 5 minutes, 10 MinutesSorry !!!

    We needed to get the room changed from above the restaurant and smell but were then given a room on level 2 which was fabulous. Location is great for the Basilica, steps and park gardens. Restaurant staff were a bit disappointing with pretty poor service.

    We had just finished the walk up the 600 stairs to the cathedral of Bom Jesus with our 5 and 8 year olds.They were very excited but also very thirsty.Allthough the evening service hadn’t started yet and the bar was actually closed we were welcomed by chef Albano Lourenco. He invited us into the bar told us to enjoy the panoramic view of the town of Braga and got us some drinks.He joined us and told us about Portugal, Braga, etc...We will definitely return when we are in Portugal next year
