    It was okay.

For stay one night it was okay. But the bathrooms are too small. The staff were nice. I'm not sure if i would come back. If you want somethig not too expensive this is your place. But don't expect a lot of luxury.

    Great location, nice staff

Upon my arrival (I had made reservations several months prior), I was told there was a problem and they are over booked and wanted me to move to another location. I was somewhat in a panic mode (had just arrived from the US) - they ended up making some arrangements and I ended up staying there. During the whole time, they were very friendly and I appreciated whatever they did so I did not have to find another location. The room was basic, but did have a small patio off the room - nice to sit and have a glass of wine.

Very nice staff and good lacation

The staff was extermely nice to us during the whole stay. The location is very good - close to metro station (you can go to the airport) and riverbank. I think that for the city centre location the prize was very good. Rooms are small, but nice and clean. Very small bathroom with a strange door, but if you mostly sightseeing you won't even notice the problem :)If I were go back to Porto, I'll choose Santa Clara.

    Good Value. Clean. OK Location

I stayed here for 5 days in March. Here's a link to my Porto Trip Report: https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowTopic-g189180-i598-k9362147-Trip_Report_Porto_5_Days_In_March-Porto_Porto_District_Northern_Portugal.htmlFirst of all, this Hotel is situated half-way up a fairly steep hill which I found challenging. This may be a consideration if you have any mobility problems.Check-in was quick and easy and I made my way to my 2nd floor room over-looking the street. The first thing that struck me was how clean it was. Furniture is a little dated but everything was there, including a Juliet balcony which had a good view over the city. The double bed was very firm. I like that, but it was probable one of the most firm beds I'd ever slept in - hard like a futon, although comfortable. Full length net curtains hang behind automatic blackout shutters, so no light enters during the night. The street outside is cobbled and the traffic makes a fair bit of noise - take earplugs. I only had breakfast (€4) on one day. It was a little samey and offered limited variety. I found local caf€s a better option - there is one directly across the road.My room was cleaned and towels replaced every day. There was always plenty of boiling hot water. The tv is not flat-screen and only offers 4 English-speaking channels: CNN; DW (German news channel in English), A&E (showing programmes such as 'Storage Wars' and 'Flipping Vegas') and Fox Life (showing 'Code Black', Rizolli & Iles' etc).I didn't have any problems during my stay and can thoroughly recommend this budget hotel. Just remember what you paid to stay here and everything will be ok.

    Cheap and Reasonably Cheerful

The positives to this property are that it has a really good location just up from the Bolhao market and walkable from Sao Bente station, if you're not weighed down with too much luggage. It's also a good price. The staff are very friendly but spoke little English, but that wasn't too much of a problem. Gaining access/ leaving can be difficult as the door is automatically controlled. Biggest negative is that the rooms are in urgent need of an overhaul although they were very clean and quite comfortable.Fine for an odd night but probably not for a week.............
