The worst hotel from the rude service , dirty rooms and awful food. This was rated 4 star. 1 star hotels were better

The rooms were dirty . , staff rude , AC DIDNT WORK, Food was horrendous. I have stayed at better 2 star hotels than this 4 star hotel. An embarrassment to this beautiful town. Stay clear of this hotel, so disappointing and out of character for the area.

    Nice stay, reasonable price

A unexpected gem! The hotel is a bit dated but the facilities are excellent for the price point. The beds were very comfortable and toiletries available. Lots of outlets. No a/c but the cool night breeze was almost chilly. The pool is clean and refreshing, little shade though for the loungers. On site bar and restaurant. There was a wedding when we stayed so we did not have dinner. The breakfast was basic but lots of options —skip the scrambled eggs.If you’re doing the Camino it is right on the route…you walk out the door and are in the trail

Food unappetising and sometimes inedible !! lack of presentation, quality and variety

    rating25 May 2022

Room fine but holiday total disappoining for food and bar facilities - tour rep informed and she said there had been complaints before - nothing was done to improve the dreadful food we were presented with - hardly any choice and repetitive menus on several days. Food poorly cooked and presented and totally unappetising

The hotel Santo Andre is a beautiful place to stay right on the Atlantic coast the rooms are spacious and the food is very good the staff are welcoming and very helpful at all times of the day. There is a boardwalk that takes you along the coastline to Povoa about 45 minutes walk, the hotel is top quality what more can I say.

This hotel can divide opinion but it is ideal if you like a secluded location by the beach. Not so good if you want evening entertainment and the opportunity to walk into town to local bars. There is a wooden walkway beside the sea in both directions so if you enjoy walks by the sea you will be happy. The extensive walkway probably makes it wheelchair friendly but we have no practical experience of this. Our room had a spacious balcony overlooking the sea and at night we could drift off to sleep to the sound of the Atlantic Ocean. The hotel was built in the seventies and the wooden finish interiors retain the feel of the time. The reception area was bright and modern and the cleaners were hardworking and maintained the rooms and public areas well. Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful but there were times in the restaurant were their need to multitask meant having to rush their service. The food was perfectly adequate, although largely unmemorable, with a choice of meat or fish each evening together with a range of salad and vegetables. Drinks in the bar/ restaurant were cheap and overall the hotel offers value for money.
