Location

The exclusive beachside hotel is superbly situated in the north of Portugal. The town of Oporto is a 15-minute drive away. Guests are able to enjoy wonderful sea views of the turquoise blue sea. The town centre, with its many places of interest, can easily be reached on foot or by car. Various shopping venues, countless bars, cafés, restaurants, a nightclub as well as many other entertainment venues are to be found in the vicinity (within 2 km).

Facility

3 junior suites, 5 suites and 166 double rooms are located on 6 storeys and can be reached by 4 lifts. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities available at the hotel include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a newspaper stand and a playroom. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service (for a fee), a laundry service, a hairdresser, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Active guests who wish to explore the surrounding area by bike will appreciate the bicycle hire service. Bicycle storage is also available. Complimentary newspapers are available. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a fax machine. Lectures, presentations and meetings can be held in one of the 17 conference rooms.

Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Most units include a balcony with sea views, where guests can relax and linger a while. All rooms are carpeted and have a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe and a minibar are also available. Guests will also find a mini fridge included among the standard features. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. Guests will also find slippers in their rooms. A hairdryer and bathrobes are provided in the bathrooms, which include a shower and a bathtub. Wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms are also available. The hotel has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

Sport

Heated indoor and outdoor pools, filled with salt water, ensure comfortable swimming. There is a children's swimming area as well. Refreshing drinks at the pool bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub offer the perfect way to unwind. Sun loungers and parasols on the sun terrace create a perfect space for guests to relax and unwind. The hotel offers an extensive outdoor sport and leisure programme, which includes cycling/mountain biking and golf. For a fee, guests can also enjoy tennis, beach volleyball and crazy golf. Water sports enthusiasts are offered windsurfing. A wide range of indoor sporting activities are also offered, for example a gym, table tennis and aerobics or, for a fee, billiards and squash. There is a wellness area with a spa, a sauna, a steam bath and a hammam and, for an additional fee, a beauty salon, massage treatments and a solarium. Leisure facilities include a kids' club, a dance club and a nightclub.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a non-smoking restaurant, a café and a bar. Catering options include bed and breakfast, half board and full board. A generous breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. At lunch and dinner, guests can choose between a buffet, à la carte and a set menu. Diet meals and children's meals can be prepared on request. The hotel also offers special catering options. Alcoholic beverages are available.

    A good all round hotel with charm definitely worth a visit

    Absolutely loved our stay . Staff where fantastic, rooms little dated due to the age of the hotel but clean and functional and spacious, breakfast was amazing with fantastic variety to suit every need. Dinner in the restaurant was beautiful high quality food ,we ate here a few times through our week long stay .Hotel facilities good and location practical for the beach ,shops and travel links with beautiful walkways to walk to Esphino and the train links Hotel run a shuttle service which is great to Porto free to guests. Definitely will visit again all the way from Scotland. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    I stayed with my two children for 4 nights in May this year. The hotel is quite grand and has been well looked after. The facilities are also well looked after especially the pools and spa facilities. Staff were really helpful, knowledgeable of the area and supported us with a range of requests. The front reception staff were excellent and the restaurant service was also excellent. The staff were really accommodating of my younger child’s fussy tastes and put something together off menu. The hotel is quite a bit out of the centre of Porto (20-30 min) but there are some nearby smaller towns and the beach is also nearby. We would definitely stay again due to the facilities and the staff. Porto is a great city and people were really helpful

    We stayed at the Hotel Solverde as a group of 8 golfers in early May. The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfasts were excellent as was the service in all areas of the hotel.     Friendly staff, good facilities, great location - take a sea view room option.Nice hotel, slightly dated but nothing too bad and very well maintained.     The hotel was an okay experience... Had some good facilities, the room was fine and well equiped.. The bed was good condition. The breakfast was fine with a good varity.. However it is not 5 star standard, as they claim, nor the breakfast, the service nor facilities... They were okay.. When we asked the staff during check out why they have 5 stars and they explained that they are a 5 star hotel, and we hesitated.. And they claimed that because its a old building it may not seem like it.. We have been to various 5 star hotels in old buildings and that it not a justification.. The hotel is fair enough, with different facilities and price is fair BUT its NOT 5 star standard... They shoot themselves in the foot puting the expectation for guests and then they are not...
