    Very bad

    rating03 Aug 2024

Completely sluggish hotel.Old and dirty rooms with lack of maintenanceDegraded common areas with bad appearance and bad odorThe ridiculous thing is they have a pool for the guests to have ⁇ the same on these sunny and hot days, and they don't have sun loungers on site, but the best of all is that they are sloping at a corner outside the pool area, and the same all dirty, not wanting to clean them.Poor cleaning service due to lack of staff. We arrived at the rooms at 4:00 and the same had not been made.Basically we stayed in a renegade room. Neither phone for reception works. The poor breakfast for a 3* hotel with poor quality and missing 1 hour to finish the same there was no replacement. What is worth it is the location that is close to the medieval journey, which is what makes them happy. Old hotel that needs renovation. But everything works and they keep it Nice and clean. The pools are clean too. Breakfast buffet simple, but dinner tastet fantastic!!They are so sweet around our 1 year old. They have Cribs and baby chair.200meters to The local Castel, 100meter to a local Playground and small supermarket..The receptionist doesn't talk english, and that has complicated our stay..

    The Hotel stopped in time

    rating14 Mar 2017

The location is good is close to the city center and the Castle of Santa Maria da Feira and with good access to the highway. The surrounding area is quiet good for a walk in nature. The pool is nice. The room is spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly. And the breakfast was good. But it seems like we are in the past century needs to do major remodeling works. The bathroom needs works, flush toilet with water leak, small shower nothing practical. Forget TV. Wifi only in reception. Elevator broken, steps everywhere there are no access ramps, not easy to walk with bags. The hotel needs a major refurbishment, it is in bad condition. It's all very old It seems that we stepped back in time.Needs to upgrade to this century.

Back to the 80's... Peaceful place near the Castle.

    rating01 Aug 2015

Was there 2 nights, paid 45€/night for a double bedroom (room 314 - 2 people room with breakfast included). Choosed this Hotel to be near the "Medieval Journey" that occurs every year in Santa Maria da Feira, between July-August.PROS:- Location is inside a forest park ("Quinta do Castelo"), a few steps from the Medieval Castle (about 5-10 minutes walking), surrounded by a peaceful wood which you can walk and find some great places, like the caverns (artifical grotto, but very relaxing place). Great place to sleep without any surrounding noises.- There are some security cameras in the Hotel complex, that make you feel secure, since there aren't any houses or apartments in the area (there is only a children's center near but it's closed at weekends), and you have to walk 10-15 minutes to the city center.- Staff was helpful and the room was cleaned every day.- Breakfast was good (continental breakfast, there was also some fried eggs and sausages).- They have a Restaurant with meals on lunch and dinner time (about 10€/person).- Free Car Park (which was great, because during the Medieval Journey in busy hours is difficult to find a place to park).- Free Wi-Fi (but I only got signal in the Lobby area and in the Pool, never got connection inside the room)!- Game room with chess, checkers, pool table (4€/hour) and ping pong table.- Great pool outside, for the guests! You won´t find any Hotel in the city center with a pool to swim and get some sun (and in August was really nice).CONS:- I felt I was having Holidays in an old Hospital or Sanatorium, the building was painted in yellow and gray and when I entered was like the Hotel was frozen in 1980 and nothing changed since that time, there are some paintings that were discolored by the sun! (Please, put some new colourful and "happy" paintings in the common areas!). The common areas in every floor are huge and they are empty, with only some couch, they need "modern" furniture to fill the spaces! - The room could host 3-4 people, because there is a couch in the entrance, however the furniture and the bathroom is old and needs renovation! Even the locker of the door was in bad condition.- There is no air conditioner inside the room (there is a fan).In summary, if you don't need to stay in a new fashionable hotel, you can stay here! The pool was really great and the surrounding areas in the forest park are really relaxing, however you need to walk 10-15 minutes to get to the city center. But if you wanna go to the Medieval Journey, this is really close to the castle and where the action happens. If you liked this review and think it was helpful, please thank! ;)
