  Lovely staff in a good location

  We stayed 5 nights having booked directly with the hotel as that was cheaper than any search response. We had a superior room overlooking the garden - well in our case mainly the plastic roof of the pergola - but it would be nice to sit out there on a warm day. Room amenities as described , furnishing an eclectic mix of modern and old, maybe in need a bit of re grouting and paint touch up in a few places but otherwise no complaints. Kettle supplied but only 1 black teabag which wasn’t replaced and no milk, I took my own teabags and asked for milk at reception which was given - you could take teabags / coffee / milk from the breakfast area. Breakfast was good and eggs are offered and cooked fresh . Staff were helpful and friendly. Location - once we found it, our taxi driver dropped us at the 5 star hotel so we wandered for a bit as the door isn’t obvious - it’s opposite the waffle cafe - was very good and a 5/10 min walk to the market etc. Bars and restaurants nearby though in the main they were cafe / fast food type places, we did eat at Senhore Ze - that was good - and another restaurant Maria ? opposite the Ibis hotel which was busy , food ok, so you need to book. I’d recommend a stay at the hotel.   A fabulous hotel with the best staff, couldn’t fault a thing!

  Fabulous!!! What a wonderful hotel! The friendliest welcome and the friendliness continued throughout our stay with every person we met.The hotels whole ethos is brilliant, so eco friendly and the level of detail to apply this is impressive.The breakfast was superb, and as two veggies we were delighted by the hot food choices (those chickpeas!! Yummy!!) A little port when we checked in, umbrellas in the rooms to use. Lots of little details like this that added to our stay. We loved how central the hotel is to everything and the amount of places to eat nearby. Can’t wait to return - just the best stay, thank you!   Great Location, Spacious Rooms, and Superb Breakfast

  The hotel is tucked away on a quiet street yet still close to everything—restaurants, attractions, and points of interest. The Dom Luís I Bridge, which leads to Vila Nova de Gaia, is just an 8–10 minute walk, and we even caught a beautiful sunrise there! We stayed in the garden-facing rooms on the 3rd floor, which happen to be the only ones on that level, giving us a nice sense of privacy. The rooms themselves were spacious, spotless, and wonderfully quiet. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the breakfast was absolutely superb!   Very nice Boutique-Hotel, any time again!

  We have enjoyed our stay at Jardim da Batalha at lot: most of all, very friendly personnel, every day, on every occasion! Breakfast: we have had an early arrival, way before lunch and it was no problem to book breakfast without ahead notice. Every day, we found a breakfast with a lot of variety, fresh eggs cooked or fried as desired, fruit, many kinds of bread, all very fresh and tasty, and no plastic (part of the hotel concept!). Just love your pumpkin marmelade! Coffee and Tea available all day, without extra costs.Our room: well-sized and very clean, we loved our balcony, and the very silent A/C which was working perfectly fine.The garden: the only negative point: the views on the webpage pictures are kind of an illusion, actually, there is hardly any space to sit outside, so we preferred our balcony. And the trash cans do not make it look better. Maybe camouflage them.Location: 5- 10 min walk to „the bridge“, the pedestrian zone, churches, … and to the hop-on hop-off bus stop (if needed). Restaurants and a super market in close walking distance.Shuttle service to the airport back and forth worked perfectly!So all together: any time again, we have had very good value for money!   Don't let the rather unconventional front to the hotel put you off this lovely gem of a place.

  A lovely little hotel located in the old area of Porto. Very clean and quiet room. The breakfasts were excellent with changing elements each day and freshly cooked to order eggs available every day. Lovely welcoming staff at all encounters. A lovely touch is that the excellent coffee machine/tea making facilities in the dining area are available to guests at all times, at no additional charge (in addition to the standard coffee making facilities in the room). Although apparently graded as a 3* hotel, there were many 4* hotel standard elements to our whole stay.
