This attractive hotel is situated in the tourist district of Lamego, only a few minutes away from the city centre with plenty of shops, boutiques, cafés, bars, restaurants as well as further shopping and entertainment venues. In addition, the airport is about 120 km away.

The hotel has 115 suites and 88 double rooms, which are located on 5 storeys and are reachable by 2 lifts.     Data breach. And focusing on just your payments …what about our data

    Data breach - we were approached by someone who knew all the details of our booking … and it was only a week or so later the hotel acknowledged a data breach to all guests. We are surprised by the very limited information shared by the hotel - our phone number booking details and information was clearly taken and all the hotel worries about is their payments…we had our data lost by you and have offered no flexibility

    This hotel refused to turn on the air conditioning in the guest rooms on a very warm night. The ground floor, where the reception desk bar and dining area are located were all air-conditioned. I traveled with a group, most of whom had trouble getting into their rooms with the room key codes. This is a pain in the ass. Regular key cards should be issued. I have to say The staff was very nice, no complaints there, even when being confronted about the AC issue. I know it is not their fault, and they were as nice as could be, but the owner of the hotel does not give a damn about the hotel guests.

    Rita at the front desk was the nicest, most helpful person we met in Portugal!Spa was nice with excellent massages and facials. There is an indoor pool, lounge area, soaking tub (that really should be warmer) small sauna and steam room plus an outdoor pool. The hotel feels understaffed and there was often a wait to get a drink or be seated. There was no poolside service - bring your own towel from the room, bring your food out and back. For the price this was fine but if you are looking for a luxury experience you might find this lacking. The bar and restaurant were good but could be improved with more helpful staff and a wider range in the menu. The room was large and comfortable. There was an espresso maker but the staff seemed to always forget to refill the capsules. There is only one smallish window so there was not a lot of natural light. It was easy to get taxis and worth going into the quaint village of Lamego. A taxi to Pinhao was 60 euros one way. Overall a pleasant stay at a reasonable price.

    We came for a long weekend (3 nights) for a birthday as a couple. The stay was perfect. We contacted the hotel in advance and they organised our restaurants as well as booked us a day tour that visited a winery and took us on a train and boat down the river (currently listed as shared tour number 2). I had a lovely massage in the spa another day and we also used the gym each day. We ate breakfast in the restaurant, which was constantly being refreshed, and we also ate in the bar twice as they did a couple of delicious salads which were a welcome reprieve from rich restaurant dinners! I was worried about noise as I saw the comments on walls being thin and I’m a really light sleeper, but we were located at the end of a corridor and I slept the best I have done in weeks :)

    Staying in the Douro Valley is a must, if you want to really explore the region. To combine your stay with a sense of relaxation, this hotel provides the sure thing. Great Spa, great breakfast and evening dining and a very nice staff. Excellent value for money!!!
