    A Porto Gem!

    rating18 Nov 2025

I had a great stay at the Mercure Porto Gaia Hotel during my visit to Porto. The location is excellent- centrally located near restaurants, shops, and historic landmarks, making it easy to explore the city.My room was quiet and comfortable, providing a nice break from the bustle of sightseeing. the complimentary breakfast buffet was lovely, with plenty of options to start the day right. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout my stay, and overall the hotel was easy to access and navigate. Our 2025 Portugal Vacation

    rating24 May 2025

Finding the hotel was a little tricky but it was because the entire city is undergoing major construction with the Metro but once we got the there the atmosphere was fantastic. The receptionist was very charming and she processed our reception very quickly. Daniella, who works in the Cafe, we cannot say enough good things about her. She knew all the dishes and gave us the best recommendations. Her attitude and professionalism was excellent. Excellent

    rating12 Oct 2024

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights as part of a visit to Northern Portugal. The first thing I would like to point out is its location. It is located a few kilometers outside of Porto, very close to the motorway, so the connection to the city is quite easy. In the wider area there is a shopping centre where you can find everything. There are also bus lines for the city but not a metro station. Anyway, in my opinion, staying at this time in a hotel in the city, with the numerous construction projects under way, the traffic congestion and at a much higher price, is not advisable. Because of the general circumstances, I had not stayed in a Mercure for several years. So I was pleasantly surprised to find that the chain not only maintains the standard it has always had, but has improved. The building is in very good condition, the room very spacious, quiet, very well equipped, and with a pleasant view, as requested. Breakfast is very good as always, both in variety and quality. And the restaurant-bar, whenever we used it was satisfactory. I would like to make special mention of the staff. A group of young people who with their kindness and professionalism responded very satisfactorily to everything we needed, from check in to our departure, and who with their instructions made our stay better. Yes, we would stay at this hotel again if given the opportunity. Sérgio Bastos, General Manager at Mercure Porto Gaia Hotel, responded to this review Thank you for the great review of our hotel! We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again very soon.Best regardsSérgio BastosGeneral Manager

    One day in Porto

    rating10 May 2024

We booked on the Accor site, chose a standard room with early check-in and late check-out. Advance information by e-mail was good, check-in and check-out was super easy. The breakfast was good with a large choice. We also had dinner at the hotel which was not a gourmet meal - but adequate. The room on the second floor was clean, quiet - but hot and stuffy (even though we did what we could to get it cooler and fresher). The location is next to a shopping centre with a large supermarket (Auchan) and theother type of stores you find in such centres. We only spent one night - but used the day to visit World of Wine close by. Went by Bolt back and forth. We chose this hotel for a stay after a river cruise due to the fact that they had early check-in and late check-out.
