Location

This city hotel is only 5 minutes’ walk from Penafiel city centre, next to the fair and trade centre. Penafiel city centre has restaurants, bars, public transport connections, a park and shops. The nearest club in Penafiel is a 5-minute drive away. Gaia beach is a 30-minute drive away, although the Atlantic Ocean can be reached in only 20 minutes by car. The River Douro is a 25-minute drive away, and Porto is just 20 minutes’ drive from the hotel. The Rota do Românico is only 5 minutes away by car, and the Quinta de Aveleda can be reached in half an hour on foot. The preserved villages and the Douro region are both a 30-minute drive away.

Facility

The hotel has 12 junior suites, 15 suites and 54 double rooms, which are located on 4 storeys and are reachable by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Services such as a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected.     Serious Safety Concerns and Poor Customer Service

    I recently stayed at Penafiel park hot and, unfortunately, had a deeply disappointing experience that raises serious concerns about the safety and standards of this hotel.Our primary concern was the safety of the high chairs in the restaurant. These chairs are not secure for toddlers, as they can easily tip over, leading to potentially severe injuries. The hotel management's response that the chairs are "safe if used safely" is unacceptable. Safety should not depend on perfect usage, especially when it comes to children. We also encountered significant issues with the food service. We were served undercooked burgers at the bar, which poses a serious health risk. The hotel's dismissive response, focusing on the wait time rather than the safety of the food, was shocking. Food safety is not a matter of personal preference, and serving undercooked meat without confirming with guests is simply irresponsible.Additionally, despite requesting a cot/crib for our child, none was provided, leaving us to use a sofa bed. The children's playroom was also a concern, with sharp corners, exposed electrical outlets, and an unsecured exit leading to steep steps. These are significant safety hazards that should not exist in a four-star hotel.The lack of attention to guest safety and the dismissive attitude towards our concerns are deeply troubling. I strongly urge Penafiel park hotel to reassess their safety practices and customer service standards. Until these issues are addressed, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone, especially families with young children.

    Ordered one of the room service menus (no information in the room but they took it there) and.... WHAT a delight, delicious, much better than in many so-called Michelin stars restaurants... What a delight! Congratulations to your chef and kitchen team.

    I booked and paid for 5 nights, I left the hotel after the first night. Rooms are dirty, service is poor, furniture is in bad condition, the hotel is not well noise-insulated. You can't sleep all night. They didn't accept issuing a refund...

    Stayed here for 1 night whilst attending an Handball tournament and the hotel is very good!From the arrival until the departure you can enjoy the hotel, views, clean and comfortable rooms! Breakfast is very good, good WiFi connection and staff very pleasant!Recommendable!!

    i stayed here for a week and the hotel far exceeded my expectations . Nice food especially breakfast which is very relaxed. Unlike in many hotels where you feel the staff are keen to close up the buffet and get on preparing for lunch and make this plain here you could roll up towards their advertised end of breakfast and you are welcomed warmly no problem .When i stayed and had supper despite a couple of coach parties and catering for the visiting Guinea-Bissau football team and multiple back room staff the service was still excellent .( they should have played against Holland instead of England in the semi final Nations League .i am sure they would have done better ! )Great spa,big rooms ,super fast wi-fi ,multiple tv channels and big public areas . The staff are super helpful and friendly in the typical low key understated Portugese manner . If you visit the Douro Valley go past Regua and proceed up to Pinhao .I followed this advice and glad i did . Stunning .Many thanks to all at the hotel
