Days of enjoyment at Quinta da Calcada in the northernmost tip of Portugal

I had the opportunity to spend a few wonderful days staying at the Quinta da Calçada this Summer of 2023, traveling from Mexico, to (re)discover the Alto Minho Portugues.La Quinta mixes a very tranquil atmosphere with a historical one, since the main building dates back to the end of the 17th century. Our room had direct access and overlooked a small garden (which we even helped water!) - they call it the "Master" room, as it is in the main block of the house. We loved the decoration, all with antique objects - including the bed - but it was very comfortable. We only needed a small refrigerator, but then we understood that there was one in the living room to which we had access.Me and my girlfriend were able to relax, swim in the beautiful pool enjoying an impressive view over Spain and the Minho River and, due to the good location, visit a few kilometers away the Peneda National Park and monuments as old as dating back to the founding of Portugal. And if you like photography, you will enjoy taking back good memories.We felt very well welcomed by the host, Mrs. Rosário, who recommended us from where to buy fresh bread for our picnics to where to go see the most beautiful sunsets. And we enjoyed those sunsets while drinking the good Alvarinho wine from the region!Highly recommended to stay at the Quinta da Calçada in Melgaço, Portugal.
