    Very nice experience!

    rating21 Sept 2019

My wife and I really enjoyed our one night stay at this hideaway hotel. Good service, nice rooms and fantastic breakfast with fresh fruit, freshly baked buns, croissants, apple cake etc. Great value. But, it would be nice if they also could offer dinner. No big menu, but 3-4 basic dishes based on local traditions. That is what most guests would really enjoy. We drove to Lamego to eat dinner, but the town was «dead as a doornail» with very few places that tempted a dinner visit. And we drove and walked around for an hour. Nothing happening on Saturday morning either, such as a market etc. Other than the church on the hill and stairway to it, Lamego was a disappointment. Maybe too late in the season on Sep. 21?

    BEAUTIFUL IN EVERY WAY.

We stayed two nights in Quinta Do Terreiro and loved everything: the very spacious, well equipped room, the stunning building, having delicious breakfasts on the big veranda with beautiful views. The family went out of their way to make our stay special and we were given every help to make the most of our visit to the area. There was no option to have dinner, but that didn't bother us; we simply had our dinner in the nearby town of Lamego and went for drinks in the bar in the village.Obrigada.

    Wonderful experience

We rented the entire place as a group of 14 and had the most incredible experience. The staff were very friendly and always happy to accommodate anything we wanted. They arranged for dinners for us every night on the patio and the food was always delicious. The rooms were clean and quaint. The house itself is a beautiful stone house. The pool is cold as it is spring fed but crystal clear. The location is somewhat remote but we stayed for a week and all had cars and arranged for excursions so we were able to use the hotel as a base from which to explore the beach, the vineyards and the Douro region. The town of Lalim was very cute... not much to do there other than relax and enjoy the small town atmosphere but it was a great base. But it's close to Lamego - less than a 10 minute drive. We loved our stay and can't thank the staff enough for making our vacation extra special.

Great room but communication is a problem

This B&B is lovely. When we entered the roo it felt like going back to the middle ages but with the comforts of today. Loved it. It is a bit of the track and they're are no restaurants in the neighborhood. You can have dinner if you reserve it a day in advance, but because the direct email on the site didn't work I did it via booking. I asked the lady from the B&B we were staying to give them a call in the morning as my Portuguese is not good, but nothing was received and it was to late to book dinner. So we brought ourselves a picnic. Breakfast was lovely. We stayed here on the way from Coimbra to Porto as we wanted to start early on a tour through the Duoro valley and that worked out nicely.
