    Gave away our room!! Horrible Place!!

    My party of four arrived at this hotel Friday, Oct 14, 2022 at 10 pm after a long day of travel only to be told they only had 1 room. Our booking was with Hotels.com and we received 2 separate Itineraries proving of course that we booked and had Confirmation for 2 separate rooms at this place. Instead of apologizing for giving away our room -the owner kept insisting that we only booked one room! We called to confirm with Hotels.com that 2 were booked and confirmed (with Itinerary numbers in hand), and the owner began yelling and was very unprofessional. We come to find out that he gave it away to someone who paid more for the room!! He was yelling at 4 woman in Portuguese and a translator who happen to know English relayed his messages. This place was sub-par at best, and would NOT recommend it to my dog. Not only was the owner horrible but the place looked quite scary. DO NOT BOOK!!!

    The hotel is actually nice, the gentlemen running it are fun and my room is well furnished. A subway station is in walking distance, Porto centre is in reach.So, all nice, it seems if there wasn't the busy road in front of my bed. Busy meaning very busy and even though my room is on the 3rd floor, I feels like having the lorries on my pillow.One night is night night more than I wanted to stay.

    all the staff here are extra special, couldnt have asked for more attentive and friendly people, the outside doesnt look anything special but the original style interior is functional but interesting, the room was clean and suitable for a short break , everything you need is provided (wifi - TV in non Portuguese languages) except for a new pair of calf muscles - didnt realise how hilly Porto really is, I would stay here again if I ever returned to Porto - a fantastic hotel experience , the one and only complaint would be the noisy dog next door but if you have walked the hills you soon sleep

    Location was good and the staff were excellent, but being an old building in an old area, the hotel does need some TLC. Rooms were clean, wifi good. Neighbours were noisy!Good transit links with a bus right outside and the metro a 10 minute walk. Host very helpful providing maps and suggestions.There are grocery stores close by and a small fridge in the room so we bought yogurt and croissants for breakfast.

    Situated at a busy road, Sol da nave offers you a great parkingspot on the other side of the street (€6,00 per day). The very friendly owner welcomes you with his greatest smile. He helps you with your lugage upstairs. The rooms are simple but the shower and bathroom are superb! There is no breakfast served but look for a place called "paõdock" 2 streets away and they serve you the best breakfast and coffee. Did I already mentioned the friendly people? They are!!!
