Location

This popular city hotel is located on the Rio Ave waterside. The centre of this small historic town is around 4 km away. Within 2 km, various shopping facilities, bars, discos, restaurants and links to the public transport system are to be found. The beach is some 1 km from the hotel.

Facility

10 suites, 25 single rooms and 40 double rooms are located on 4 storeys and can be reached by lift. Guests are warmly welcomed by English- and French-speaking staff at the 24-hour reception desk in the lobby. Check-in/check-out service is available round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops, including a souvenir shop.     Not a 4 star hotel for sure. In need of major renovations including air conditioner system. Stayed for 4 days this August. Great location and big rooms but not well kept.

    I will only give my evaluation regarding the spa: old, turkish Bath is not even hot, sauna very poor, no liquid soap in the shower. One hour 15€? Not worth. The staff is very kind but the service at the spa is not equal to the pictures and what we expect

    Photos on the internet ar far not realistic about the hotel. Windows are old and not safe, blankets in the room are dirty, rooms smells of must. In the restaurant you need to waitn at least an hour until you get noticed+another one to be served. There is only one waiter speaking "english". Staff in general is either just super ignorant and rude or not trained properly how to treat the customers. We were passing the reception days without anyone greeting us or noticing us. At the check out they asked us if we came to make a resrvation?!. Non sense. Food at breakfast is completely ignoring the needs or habits of foregin traveler's. No milk, vegetables at all. You need to make your own table if you arrive at the opening, where NOTHING (napkin or cutlery) is ready for welcoming the guests. If there is a person asking for your room number, does not speak english... Do not recommend at all!

    Shabby hotel with not enough staff

    The hotel is shabby and understaffed. Our room with River view had a terrace surrounded by a 5 feet high wall which blocked the view..we were moved to a better room. The food in the restaurant is terrible, breakfast is ok but the same day after day no variety. The bar was completely unmanned, we asked reception who said he's gone for his dinner , he has to eat! When he returned he had no diet coke.Next evening only one barman who was unable to cope with more than one customer so lots of waiting to be served. Staff in the restaurant very pleasant but most staff are unhelpful except for one lady who arranged for us to move to a better room. I would not recommend this hotel until there is major investment in a refit and staff levels are increased.

    Bad things:The hotel should be pet friendly, since nowadays it is very common that people travel with dogs.I find absolutely unnecessary to use cap in the pool, and the hotel makes it mandatory (and charges 10 Euro for it, in case you don´t own one).Great things:We had an amazing time.The bed is very big and comfy, the shower is great and the room very spacious.Breakfast is very good, even lactose free options.We had 2 dinners at the hotel restaurant, in a huge group, and we had a great time.Last, but not least, the support I got for my wedding was fantastic. They provided me a huge conference from for me, my family and friends to get ready, walked with the staff I hired until the place and brought me everything I needed very fast, kindly and efficiently!Thank you very much!!
