Good but away from the centre

    rating21 Apr 2026

This is a a euro-modern hotel, with a very IKEA-like vibe. But it’s clean and generally comfortable. My room was facing the city so much quieter as it fronts on a busy street. It was the first hotel in the UK and Europe that had a sliding door on the shower too, so hooray for that. The bed was ok although they had the same thin cheap pillows a lot of places have. I decided on the last day to have the breakfast buffet which was actually quite decent, although generally preferred to just get a pastry and coffee at one of the small places nearby on the way to the city. It’s a ways to walk down the hill to the centre but you save a few dollars vs. hotels in the zone. I Ubered a lot of places for about 6 Euros per ride, so add 15-20 per day for that. Even to the airport it makes more sense to Uber because even though Trindade Stn is a 5-10 min walk, it’s on a 30 min schedule on weekends, and is usually packed and slow and makes over a dozen stops (an hour+ in total). The front desk staff were super helpful and even lent me a usb charger. You can also get wine, beer and snacks pretty well 24/7 from them - which is helpful because there ain’t much nearby. And, haha, the smallish tv only had two channels in English -- cnn and Bloomberg, and even though I’m a news junkie, this was cruel and unusual. The lights, as others have mentioned, are vexatious but you get used to them. You must put the card hanging near the door in the slot before the electricity works. Arriving at night, the room was pitch black and it took a few minutes stumbling around with my phone to figure it out. A stronger bulb over the desk would help - - what’s another couple of watts for a brighter led? The electric kettle works well but there’s only two teabags so if you like a first-thing morning coffee as I do, bring some instant. They serve it at the front for 2 euros but I don’t think many of us want to go downstairs in our underwear and unkempt hair in the morning.

    A great stay

    rating01 Apr 2026

Stay Hotel Porto Centro Trindade has an excellent location, close to major historical sites and the main metro station, making it very convenient for exploring the city. The room was clean, and the environment was quiet, which made for a comfortable stay. The room temperature was also comfortable throughout. The staff were friendly and helpful. The price is affordable, offering great value for money overall.

    Perfectly acceptable budget hotel.

    rating17 Oct 2025

A perfectly acceptable hotel with a breakfast included for a very very competitive price. It’s a budget hotel so don’t expect bells and whistles. The rooms are good but the lighting in them is dreadful. There is a fair bit of road noise, courtesy of Porto’s cobbled streets, so bring some ear plugs if you’re sensitive. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good but nothing special and quite busy at certain times. I certainly didn’t go hungry. Location is very good with an easy walk into the old town or the metro just around the corner. Overall a very enjoyable stay and no complaints.

    Quiet, comfortable sleeps

    rating20 Sept 2024

Safe, central location close to bus and train terminals, the Baixe district, City Hall, Iglesia Santa Cruz, river walks, Jardim botanical and the university. Breakfast included. Friendly staff. Initial impression outside was off putting but reality was more favourable.

Good location but otherwise very average

    rating18 Sept 2024

The hotel is in a good location very close to Trinidade Metro (in fact there is an entrance off the square located on the left as you exit the hotel). It is clean however we only asked for room service twice during our five night stay and it wasn’t done despite being out between 10am and 5pm - new towels were provided promptly when we complained. The service was efficient rather than friendly and the bed and pillows were very hard. We stayed as part of an EasyJet package but I wouldn’t want to pay more than 60 euros for this hotel in September. Breakfast was an extra 10 euros if pre booked and 12 if you didn’t. We went to local cafes of which there were many and paid between 4 euros to 7.50 euros for coffee juice and a toastie/crossiant etc. my assessment is that the hotel is just OK
